Great overview of the city

This was a great day tour with Jim and Mark! Jim's humor and insight into the city made for a fun view of the vast city! So many wonderful sights to see and places to visit.

Wonderful tour!

Absolutely fantastic experience! We learned so much from Scott about areas of New York City most tourists don't visit. It was a very enjoyable day all the way around. Still thinking about the yummy Italian pastries we bought along the way too! I highly recommend this and any of the tours this company offers!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking time to write a review of our Outer Borough Tour! So glad you enjoyed the tour and pastries! All the best until we see you again!

Our guide was the best

Our guide Scott was excellent. Worth every dime and some. He really knows the city and interesting facts and his food recommendations were spot on. He did such a great job. Thanks for making our trip Scott!

Response from the operator: Thanks for exploring the outer boroughs with us. So glad you enjoyed off-the-beaten path New York!

Must Do!

Thanks to Scott for a fantastic tour of DUMBO, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and all the extra little bits in between. We had such a great day, learned so much and will be talking about those delicious Jewish Pastrami Rueben's forever! We will be sure to recommend your tours back home in Australia.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the review! We are clearly all on the same page (of the menu). It was great showing you both "The Real New York." And, thanks in advance for the referrals! All the best until next time!

FRANK M · November 2019

Bad!

A very expensive tour, and a guide saying almost nothing. The only thing we actually did during this tour was driving around for hours through the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. This was the worst tour we did during our holiday!

Response from the operator: Frank, sorry you were disappointed with your tour. Please be reminded you spent approximately 40 minutes on a stroll through Little Italy in the Bronx. There you visited various Italian markets and shops, including your wife spending time in an Italian cookware store where she made the purchase of several items. You also went into an Italian pastry shop in the Bronx where you sat down to have coffee with your family. At Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, you got out of the vehicle and visited the New York Yankee and Football Club Team Store. When in Flushing Meadows Queens, you spend approximately 30 minutes in the Queens Museum walking around the to-scale miniature model of the city called the Panorama. You wanted Mexican food for lunch. So, you were taken to a Mexican neighborhood in Corona Queens. There you got out and had "real" Mexican food in a Mexican "locals" restaurant which you said you enjoyed. In Greenpoint Brooklyn, you got out of the vehicle and walked through Transmitter Park to the East River's edge for views of the Manhattan skyline across the river. You also got out of the vehicle for a stroll in DUMBO Brooklyn, one of the most exciting new neighborhoods in New York City. These facts clearly contradict your claim that "The only thing we actually did during this tour was driving around for hours." You also charge you had "a guide saying almost nothing." We never heard that charge before, against this guide or any other. The guide conducting your tour is the same always conducting this tour (and others) and his reviews are steller. Once again, we are sorry the tour did not meet your expectations.

Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.

How much does Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $1099 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.

Is Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx Private Tour with a Driver-Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New York?

+

New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New York?

+

September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New York?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
