The Lowdown on The Shepherd of the Hills' Whodunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery
What to Expect The Whodunnit Hoedown takes place at the Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead & Playhouse Theater in Branson, Missouri. The story revolves around a surprise birthday party for Aunt Bell that takes a darkly comedic turn when legendary fiddler Squeeky Bowman is killed in a suspicious "accident," leaving a long list of suspects. Guests are invited to help solve the murder as the mystery unfolds. Slapstick comedy, fast-paced jokes, over-the-top quirky characters, and interactive audience participation keep the energy high and provide fun, family-friendly entertainment throughout the show. Getting There and Parking The Whodunnit Hoedown is performed at the Shepherd of the Hills Playhouse Theater, located at 5586 W. 76 Country Blvd., Branson, Missouri. There are several handicap-accessible parking spaces near the Playhouse Theater, but regular parking close to the theater is limited. A much larger parking area is available on the south side of Highway 76. From there, you can easily access the theater complex by walking through the pedestrian tunnel beneath the highway. Dinner As you enter the Playhouse dining room, you'll be directed to pick up your beverage. Lemonade, sweet tea, and unsweetened tea are available. Once seated, your meal is served on a tray. Don't expect a gourmet dining experience—the food is more like cafeteria fare. The meal includes a piece of roasted chicken, a serving of pulled pork, green beans, mashed potatoes, a dinner roll, and a slice of birthday cake. The dinner is adequate, but it isn't the main attraction. Overall Impression Overall, the show was entertaining, and the audience around us clearly enjoyed themselves. The cast kept the laughs coming with energetic performances and plenty of audience interaction. If you're looking for a lighthearted evening of comedy and mystery, The Whodunnit Hoedown is a fun choice for the whole family. I would rate the show 4 out of 5 stars.

Best comedy show
The funniest show I have ever seen in Branson. I will definitely come back again for this show. They were excellent on getting audience participation. What really surprised me besides how funny it was, was the beautiful singing voices. They get everyone singing along. I rate this show a 10! I don't think anyone could be disappointed.

Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Branson.
How much does Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Branson usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Branson is not rushed.
Is Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 521 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Branson, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show?
+
Around 182 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Branson can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Branson and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Branson’s WhoDunnit Hoedown Murder Mystery Dinner Show start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Branson within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Branson?
+
Branson is show country: theatre productions, dinner cruises on Table Rock Lake, Silver Dollar City, Ozark cave tours and duck boat alternatives on the water. Show tickets vary in seating tier, so we weight listings that spell it out. On Outty we rank every Branson experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Haygoods: Branson's Most Popular Show, The Petersens at The Little Opry Theatre in Branson, Branson Murder Mystery- Branson's Original #1 Murder Mystery. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Branson?
+
April to June and September to December for the Christmas season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Branson?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
