Ripped off
The trip was advertised as 9am start. We organised area for pickup. The operator did not tell us the night before that pickup was at 740am. Received Whatsapp messages when it was too late to make it on time (20 mins beforehand). Called operator on Whatsapp and they said a mistake had been made and to apply for refund. Sent email to TripAdvisor and they said we had been told of time for pickup, but no evidence of this. They were quite rude. We ended up paying for a taxi to go to forest by ourselves.
Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We regret that you did not have the experience you expected. All our pickup times are communicated in advance through official communication channels, such as WhatsApp and the app. We apologize for the confusion with the pickup time and understand that the situation was inconvenient. We are constantly working to improve our communication with customers and ensure that all details are clear for a smooth experience. We will forward your comments to the operational team to help prevent similar issues in the future. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we remain available for any further questions or clarifications.

The Rio BOTÁNICO JARDIN is an unforgettable tour in Rio de Janeiro!
The space is a large green area with 54 hectares, where more than 7,000 specimens of more than 2,500 different species live. The place is beautiful, from any corner it is possible to take good photos, some even take the Redeemer Christ in the background. Not to mention that there you will find several greenhouses, trails, historical monuments and beautiful lakes. Look at the victory regia that scandal 😍 We bought the ticket on time. In guarita only accepted payment in kind, but there is an option to pay online, via pix or card, through a link. An extra tip is to take repellent and go with time, as the space is large and very beautiful. When we visited we only had 1 hour there, but we recommend from 2h to 3h for those who like roles in nature!
Response from the operator: Obrigado pelo seu feedback! Você é muito importante para nós! Sempre escolhemos os melhores guias para oferecer um serviço de excelência!

Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rio de Janeiro.
How much does Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rio de Janeiro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rio de Janeiro is not rushed.
Is Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rio de Janeiro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rio de Janeiro and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Botanical Garden and Tijuca Forest Rio de Janeiro Nature Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rio de Janeiro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro?
+
On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Rio in One Day: Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf & Local Lunch, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included, Rio: Tijuca Rainforest Hike, Wildlife, Waterfalls & Caves. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
