    If you're thinking about...

If you're thinking about taking a cooking class while visiting Italy, do it! It's about more than the class and food itself. It's also about the people you'll meet and getting to explore another Italian city. What's not to love? We definitely enjoyed our class, but there were a few hiccups along the way due to a couple of incidents, none of which should reflect poorly on our host, Paolo. To begin with, Paolo really did a great job considering he lost his wallet AND had a bicycling accident while on his way to work. Personally, I would have been a wreck but he pulled himself together and worked well under some challenging circumstances. Not only was he dealing admirably with the aforementioned events, he managed our class single handedly for most of it. He set up, taught, cleaned up, then set up and taught again. Unfortunately, because he had no help until about two-thirds of the way through the class, we did a LOT of standing around and waiting. This turned our 2.5 hour class into a four hour event. Having chairs on hand to sit in while we waited would have been very helpful. In addition, we found out this was only the 8th class held at this location, evidenced by the pasta machine boxes strewn about the patio in clear sight of the class. This lent an air of disorganization to the class that again, we don't blame on P:aolo, but the company and/or the restaurant itself. There should have been someone there to set up and tidy the space so that when he arrived, he was able to begin his class on time. I believe having to handle everything on his own only increased his already high stress level. I chalk this up to poor management. He needed help and help was not something in large supply despite the other employees we saw standing around chatting during the class. With that said, we had a great time learning how to make Tiramisu, ravioli, and fettuccini and it tasted wonderful when the time came to eat our efforts. I would have liked to have also made the filling for the ravioli and actually cooked all the food, but then cooking is a passion of mine so perhaps not everyone would agree. We met some delightful people and had a great time making pasta, drinking wine and eating yummy Italian food. I'm sure they will work out the kinks and you will have a fabulous experience so give it a chance and book it! At the very least, you'll enjoy some delicious pasta you can tell people you made all by yourself!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback with us!🙏 We truly appreciate your understanding and kind words about Paolo, especially considering the challenging circumstances he faced that day. We’re very happy to hear that, despite the hiccups, you enjoyed the class, the food, and the opportunity to meet wonderful people. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us and helps us grow and improve the experience we offer our guests. We sincerely apologize for the delays, the lack of seating, and the disorganization you encountered. We understand how these details can affect the overall experience, and we will take your comments seriously as we work to improve our organization and preparation. Thank you again for your patience, your constructive suggestions, and for giving us the opportunity to learn from your experience. We hope to welcome you back in the future for an even smoother and more enjoyable Italian cooking experience! Grazie mille! 💚

    +

How far in advance should I book Bologna Award Winning Chef Pasta and Iconic Dessert Class?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bologna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bologna and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bologna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bologna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
