WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE ALGARVE
The caves and coastal boat trip itself was good. Lots to see and learn and enjoyable. Domi and Renan were knowledgeable, professional and personable. The young ladies who check you in on arrival were unorganized, ill informed and initially lead our group to the wrong boat for embarkation. Not an egregious error just slightly annoying. Where the wheels came off the proverbial cart was in the booking process. The office person who handled bookings was atrocious. They were rude, lost correspondence, unclear in their texts and flat out called me a liar. When I sent them the proof of my statement using the email that was sent to me,..crickets! No apology, no acknowledgement of their error. NOTHING! I spent a couple of hours straightening out their mess. This was time I would rather have enjoyed at a beach club or by the pool. DO NOT BOOK WITH Sétima Onda Boat trips. They aren’t worth the hassle

Espectacular
Setima fully deserves all their high ratings on Google and TripAdvisor! We took the 1.5-hour boat tour, and it was worth every single penny. When we went to buy our tickets, they honestly let us know that tours would be canceled for the next two days due to strong winds. They were spot on—and on the day we actually went, the weather was absolute perfection. On top of that, they are super punctual. Our skipper GPS and his colleague João were fantastic. They switched seamlessly between Portuguese, English, and French so that every single person felt included. They were hilarious, patient, took us to the most stunning hidden spots, and personally made sure everyone got top-tier, Instagram-worthy photos. Keep up the awesome work, guys! I highly recommend this tour! Just a quick heads-up: on the way back, the speed and the waves can get pretty thrilling, which might not be comfortable for everyone.

Cave Adventure!
Fantastic trip to Benagil! The boat was very comfortable with great seating and well kept. we were able to go right inside the caves. The driver’s maneuvering was incredibly impressive, especially in the tighter areas. The whole team was friendly, professional, and made the experience really enjoyable. Thank you, Domi and Thomas, for such a great trip! Highly recommend.

Amazing experience
This was an amazing tour… we visited many beautiful caves very efficiently! Would require a lot of planning otherwise… our guides Pino and Domi were entertaining and informative. Thank you for the outstanding experience.

What a perfect morning!
Great value for the money. The length of the visit - 1h30m - was just enough to see the wonder of the Algarve caves. The boat was steady and perfect to get inside the caves and get us the real feel of the caves. Kira and Renan were perfect hosts, kind and thoughtful.

Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portimao.
How much does Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portimao usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portimao is not rushed.
Is Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 101 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portimao, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil?
+
Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portimao can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portimao and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portimao within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Portimao?
+
On Outty we rank every Portimao experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Benagil Cave Tour From Armação de Pêra, Exclusive Small Group Kayak Tour to Benagil Caves with 4K Photos, Kayak tour to Benagil Cave and guided by local native. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Portimao?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Portimao?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil?
+
Included: Life jacket; Safe; Guide; and Captain. Not included: Food and drinks; and Sunscreen and sunglasses, or any accessory. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

+

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Boat Trip Through the 15 Caves of Benagil?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
