Black Lake and Canyon Full Day Trip

Positives: Good value for money for such a long trip. Lot of pick up location options available. Covers many Montenegro tourist attractions in one day. Negatives: We did not go to Durdevica Tara bridge as you see it in the pictures. Instead we stopped at a zip lining location. 12 out of 75 people decided to zip line and the rest had to wait 40 mins for others to finish. It was a double decker bus as it was a large group and it got really hot inside (travel time August). The lunch stop was rubbish and the food was below average (quality of cooking was poor, no issues with hygiene, service or cleanliness).

    Disappointing tour but beautiful views

This tour should not be available to a full bus load of people as only the people who sit on the right side of the bus can see the views. We sat on the left and saw nothing, the tour guide even said this at the start. Make sure you pack food and snacks as throughout the day the food stops were not adequate. The “breakfast stop” was not sustainable, it was €3 for a soggy sausage roll looking pastry which had flies around. This was the only food available here. At the same stop the toilet cost €1 and the paper towels were rationed to one square per person. Our tour guide gave us strict instructions to be on the bus at specific times which is fine except for him being 5/10 minutes late at three of the stops. Our tour guide did name out the attractions we passed and visited however he gave us no other history or information about the sites which was disappointing. The lunch stop was nice however the tour guide insisted this was the only place we could eat when there were other food stops on the way with more options. When we arrived at the second national park, the tour guide warned us to keep our tickets safe or else we would be buying new ones if we could not produce them. When we lined up to show the ticket office our tickets as instructed by the tour guide, he then said not everyone needs to show their tickets and told us all to move along we were holding up the queue. It was very confusing. The final food stop, our “dinner” was a petrol station and toilet break where the workers told us we could not buy anything for 15 minutes and they were filling the pumps. However the tour guide only gave us ten minutes total at this stop and rushed us all back on even though we all left empty handed and starving on hour 13/15. Only one sustainable meal was provided for us for a 15 hour day. The sights and national parks we did stop at were beautiful and Montenegro is a beautiful country. However, this tour could be much better organised with better food stops and information. The tour was also 15 hours not 13 as stated and this was not mentioned to us until we were already on the bus in the morning. The bus driver did a great job keeping us safe on the small winding roads, however he was on his phone all day while driving. A great tour concept but can be much improved!!

    Excellent service

I had an amazing experience on the Black Lake and Tara Canyon tour. The bus was modern, comfortable, and perfectly clean, making the journey very enjoyable. Our licensed guide was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. They shared fascinating stories and interesting facts throughout the trip, making every stop even more memorable. The scenery at Black Lake and Tara Canyon was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire tour was very well organized from start to finish. Everything ran smoothly and on time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Montenegro. It was a perfect day with excellent service, beautiful landscapes, and a fantastic guide. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
