Don't be fooled by the title, you will love this tour whether you like sports or Pittsburgh teams.
This tour is a fantastic way to learn about Pittsburgh. You don't need to be a fan of Pittsburgh sports to enjoy the tour. We are diehard Detroit sports fans and loves it. Ken was a wonderful guide who gave such interesting background on Pittsburgh and it's history using sports as the backdrop. Highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Hi Beth, Thank you so much for joining us and for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your experience with Ken, and I will be sure to pass your kind words along to him. :-) Hope you'll come back to PGH soon!

Great experience! Would recommend, Ken was an awesome guide.
We met Ken for the Walking Sports History Tour and he communicated well with us regarding some construction and closures that would impact our travel to PNC park. He was knowledgeable, kind, and had excellent stories to share. He did a great job weaving together his experience and stories from growing up watching sports in the city from Forbes field to the present. As someone who grew up just an hour from the city I still learned a lot from Ken. The tour was perfect for our group and I would highly recommend to both locals and visitors!
Response from the operator: Luke, we are so happy to hear that you had a great experience with Ken and that you learned so much about your hometown! Thank you for coming down for a tour. We'd love to have you back for another sometime.

Interactive Fun
Pleasantly walkable, informative, fun and interactive. Even a non-sports fan would enjoy it. I recommend it to everyone!
Response from the operator: Alexis, we're happy to hear that you had a great time on this tour and that you'd recommend it! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our passion for Pittsburgh with you. We would love to host you again on another kind of tour!

City walk
Allen was amazing! It was so good to get a history lesson on the city, cooler when added the spooky stories. 10/10. It was an easy paced 2 hour tour filled with delight about the city of Pittsburgh.
Response from the operator: Wow that's awesome that the Black and GHOST tour was a top experience for you and thanks for sharing! {Note: somehow this review is labeled under the sports tour, I flagged it but Allen only is a guide for the ghost tour.] -- Carye, Tour Manager

Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pittsburgh.
How much does Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans cost?
+
Prices start at $33 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pittsburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pittsburgh is not rushed.
Is Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Pittsburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pittsburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pittsburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Black & Gold Pittsburgh History Tour for Sports Fans start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pittsburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pittsburgh?
+
Pittsburgh runs river cruises at the point, Duquesne and Monongahela incline rides, Strip District food tours, steel history walks and Frank Lloyd Wright trips to Fallingwater. Fallingwater tours need timed tickets and long drive windows. On Outty we rank every Pittsburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of the Burgh Walking Tour of Pittsburgh, Bike the Burgh Tour, Just The Tour- Double Decker Bus tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pittsburgh?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pittsburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
