Chris & Lynda's experience!
Outstanding experience! The staff bent over backwards to make sure that everyone was comfortable & ready to go & very expeditious & organized on the return. On the water the guide was exceptional in describing conditions, what to look for & why we were seeing it! Great sense of humor as well which is always welcome! Perfect amount of time for novices seeking a cool experience! Will definitely be back to daytime eco tour with this group! CHEERS!

One word - sublime !
A perfect location and perfect weather for an awe inspiring night paddle on the Haulover Canal of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. The canal come alive after dark with the birds noisily turning to roost on their protected island for the evening, the dolphins can be seen & heard playfully swimming. Seeing the bioluminescent Comb jellies was so cool - like groups of very large fireflies and being able to gently hold them was such a joy! My guide Celina was a wealth of local marine information and hunted down special places to look for the Comb jelly and she even found a school of the drum stick fish by their rhythmic croaks - how cool is that! Thank you Celina for a fantastic trip. Will return :)

Outstanding
Kyle did an outstanding job leading and entertaining us. He was very personable as was Garrett (I think was his name). Though it rained almost the entire tour, we had a great time. Even the raindrops emphasized the glow. It was spectacular, and we were even able to touch some of the combs. It was a great experience. I would recommend making reservations directly with BK Adventure and not through a 3rd party.
Response from the operator: We agree that Kyle and Garrett are pretty great. We are so glad to hear you had a great time. We hope you will join us again soon! Thanks for the 5 star review!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cocoa Beach.
How much does Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cocoa Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cocoa Beach is not rushed.
Is Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 606 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cocoa Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge?
+
Around 212 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cocoa Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cocoa Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Tour of Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cocoa Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cocoa Beach?
+
Cocoa Beach sells surf lessons, airboat rides on the St Johns, bioluminescent kayak paddles in summer and rocket launch viewing cruises, with Kennedy Space Center a short drive north. On Outty we rank every Cocoa Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mangrove Tunnels, Dolphins, Manatee Tour #1 Rated in Cocoa Beach, Wizard of OZ Museum tour, Cocoa Beach Dolphin and Wildlife Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cocoa Beach?
+
March to May and September to November; check launch schedules before booking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cocoa Beach?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
