Promised refund not delivered- BEWARE
There are many tour operators on Madeira and unfortunately we chose the wrong one. We booked a private sunrise tour for 240 Euro on credit card. The next day the operator called to say that it had been cancelled due to the weather forecast, but that a refund would be applied to my credit card. After 6 messages and 21 days of false promises i had to resort to calling my credit company for a refund. Even during early discussions the operator said the refund would take 15 days, which considering that my payment was instantaneous I find this difficult to believe. Overall, a bad experience and not reflective of the others experiences we have enjoyed on this lovely island.

Do not pay this company - it is not worth it!
I booked the private tour, Sunset on the companys website before I went to Madeira in november 2024. I paid 200 euro online when I booked. After some time I got a mail from the company. I should come to the office in Madeira by my self. They did not - as written on their website at that time - pick up other places than Funchal. Okay …. I drove from Jardim do Mar and parked in the parking lot, opened 06:00. At 06:15 a nice chauffeur and I drove to the mountain Pico do Areeiro. Naturally it was cold and dark. I was given a chair and two blankets. At Pico do Areeiro there were hundreds of people and a lot of drones. It was not the experience I expected. Shortly after sunset we drove back again. The chauffeur told me he had a full day tour after our tour. We were back in Funchal 08:45. Up and back = 2 1/2 hours. Because of the missing pick up, the disappointing experience in the destination with a lot of people plus the short time of the tour, I went to the companys website again. Here I read that the tour included wind jacket, flashlight and warm drink. I was not offered anything of that, at all. So I paid 200 euros for a ride to the most visited mountain for sunsets in Madeira and got a chair plus 2 blankets. Of course I was driven back to Funchal again. I could have been doing it by myself. It was not 200 euros worth.

Amazing sunrise above the clouds
We did the private sunrise tour with Antonio and he was a brilliant tour guide. Kind, funny, and just generally amazing helping my elderly mum with the last bit of the climb to the mountain. He knew a spot, which wasn't crowded, and we have been watching the sunrise from our chair, sipping a hot cup of coffee. Truly once in a lifetime experience seeing a new day start. Worth every penny!

Excellent sunrise tour
We had a very nice experience with Pedro. We found a good watching spot in the mountains, and waited for the sun with a cup of coffee. During the drive up and down we learned a lot about the island.
