Disappointed because that's not what I hired...

The truth was not what I expected... I heard about Huarique Bike from a video of Alan Estrada when he made a trip to Lima, and at the time it caught my attention because it was a different way to get to know a part of the city, as well as being able to taste some of the gastronomy... After researching on the web portal I was very attracted to the Miraflores Tour, because of the places to visit and the huariques in which there would be tasting... And I was encouraged to hire and book the tour... The day came, November 24 at 2:00 pm... We arrive at the meeting point, give us the directions and hand us the bikes we would use... A little sloppy and even with the low air tires... As we start to taxi we realize that one of the bikes was not working properly the rear brake... We move forward about 10 minutes and arrive at Kennedy Park where they give us a brief explanation and leave the bikes parked to walk about 10/15 minutes... Hence my first dissatisfaction, isn't the tour supposed to be by bike and not walking?... They took us to a market just to try Lucuma and from there to a huarique to try ceviche and chicharrón fish, rich the truth... Then walk back to Kennedy Park again for the bikes and with the surprise that they could not open one of the locks, so two bikes were locked, and after about 30 minutes of waiting the guide decides that we continue the tour and walk/jog while we on the bikes... But they only took us to Love Park where they gave us 15 minutes to meet and take pictures, then taste a stuffed bread (which mine was somewhat burned), and then take our way back to Kennedy Park to finish the tour. On the website he mentions a 4 hour tour (❎) when to us if anything it was 3 hours, including the half hour wait for the bike lock, i.e. effective only approx 2 and a half hours. When I contracted with the information on the website, it was a slightly different tour both en route and what was included: - Audio Receiver ❎ (There wasn't) - Bottle with water ❎ (There wasn't) - Visit to 3 huariques and 1 traditional market ❎ (only 2 huariques and 1 market) - Tastings (OK) - Gastronomic Guide (OK) - Security Staff ❎ (There was none) - Bicycle (With low tires and one with brake failure) - Safety Equipment (Helmet only) In addition to mentioning places that should have been visited and did not: - Huarique “El Chinito” ❎ (Not visited) – “You stop at one of the viewpoints to enjoy the contrast of the green of our gardens with the blue of the Pacific Ocean. On the way we passed the lighthouse park to the Paraport area." ❎ (None of that was visited) - Cremoladas Curich ❎ (It was exchanged for the huarique of stuffed bread) The attitude of the guide was not the best, little interaction with us and at the time of the ceviche tasting most of the time he was checking his cell phone. And it was still a bit of a demotivation on his part when the issue of the bike lock was not solved. In conclusion, it was a bad experience, as I had many expectations of the tour from what I had seen and read, and it was not fulfilled as indicated in the description. Cheers. Jesús Juárez

DO NOT HIRE THIS SERVICE!

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Lima from Mexico and made the mistake of booking a gastronomic tour with Huarique Bikes. From the beginning, the service was deficient, and they were slow to respond, but I decided to trust them anyway. I paid 96 dollars, and they canceled the tour one day before without any explanation or alternatives. They promised to refund my money, but only returned part of it and have since stopped responding to my messages. As a foreign visitor, one expects decent service, but this service is a complete scam! HUARIQUE BIKES IS TERRIBLE. AVOID THIS FRAUD AT ALL COSTS.

Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lima.

How much does Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima cost?

+

Prices start at $62 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lima usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lima is not rushed.

Is Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lima, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Best Peruvian food bike Tour in Lima start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lima within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lima?

+

On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Day Tour From Lima: Paracas, Huacachina, Pisco Vineyard & Sunset, Premium Paracas & Huacachina Day Trip from Lima with Sunset Toast, Full Paracas & Huacachina Day Trip from Lima: Sunset Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lima?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lima?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
