About this experience
The very best that Vienna has to offer in a 2,5h tour with six tasting locations. Discover hidden places in the heart of Vienna We start our tour with a tasting of three different kinds of Viennese meatloaf in a legendary place. Our next stop is at a secret place that offers a traditional cute craft, but we won´t reveal more here. At one of the most famous quick snack places in Vienna heart, we may choose from a wide variety of delicious sandwiches. Of course, a small beer goes with them. After a short walk, we will get to enjoy some local wine accompanied by some lovely Austrian ham, horseradish, and fresh bread. In a glamorous Palais, where some of the most interesting delicatessens in Vienna are located, something sweet waits for us at a Chocolate Store we get fine pralines and marvel at the large selection of chocolate. Our last stop at a secret place right in the belly of the city will provide a private wine tasting with some great Austrian wines. Come hungry and thirsty.

Great local food and wine tour!
We decided to book this at the last minute and Im so glad we did! There were just 4 in our group, so felt like a private tour. Lucas was an amazing guide....very knowledgeable and great personality! He took us to the authentic local spots we wouldnt have likely found on our own. The wine tasting was a nice addition and we learned a lot about the Austrian wine regions and varieties. Great afternoon....highly recommend!

Great Food Tour
Great food tour. We were the only ones to sign up so it was basically a private tour for us. There was quite a bit of walking in between locations which would normally be fine except it was very hot when we were there but that’s not the tour guide’s fault. We went to several locations and had a great time.

Authentically local!
Truly a local food tour, all of the places we visited were ones we would not have found or tried on our own. Lucas was amazing--incredibly knowledgeable about the local food scene, and provided us with lots of information about the Austrian wine region. We also sampled local wines and hear about the history of the region. We really felt like we had an authentically Viennese food experience, and Lucas also left us with great recommendations for dinner and lunch spots that we utilized later in our stay. Can't recommend enough!

Vienna, food tour
Lucas was very knowledgeable and thoughtful of the groups interest. His experience as a chef makes his presentation engaging, and his knowledge, superior to other guide guides. The two hours flew by. I highly recommend this tour!

Delicious, fun & informative
This was a great tour! The tastings were delicious and plentiful, and Lukas filled us in on the history and local culture around the different foods/venues. It was a fun, interesting, and tasty way to spend a few hours getting to know Vienna!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Best of Food Tour Vienna: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Best of Food Tour Vienna cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Best of Food Tour Vienna take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Best of Food Tour Vienna worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 119 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Food Tour Vienna?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Best of Food Tour Vienna suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Best of Food Tour Vienna?
+
Around 42 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Best of Food Tour Vienna start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
