Marrakesh to Merzouga and back in three days!
Hamid was an excellent guide and driver throughout our 20+ hours of travel to and from the desert. He shared his knowledge with us about everything from the history of the Amazigh people to the vastly different landscapes of Morocco that we encountered along the way. The High Atlas mountains, the Dades Valley, and even the massive tower of the solar plant in Ouarzazate really blew us away. We left Hamid for an evening to ride camels into the sand dunes of the Sahara - which was a surreal experience. The desert camp was beautiful, the sunset spectacular, and the Amazigh jam session a fun way to close out an epic day. After the quick truck drive back over the dunes in the morning, we reunited with Hamid and our trusty van and began the haul back to Marrakech. We wish we had more time in this beautiful country. There is really SO much to see.

What an amazing Trip,
Our driver Hamid was awesome, very friendly, warm and welcoming, he was giving us so much information on our surroundings and the beautiful areas we drove through. We learned so much about the Amazigh culture, the land, and how they live. Truly an eye opening experience. The camel trek was also an unforgettable experience, itw was unreal to be out in the Sahara among the the dunes and the desert sunset. The camp was beautiful, and comfortable. The camp host and staff were also very welcoming and made it easy to enjoy the whole experience. It was a wonderful trip, thank you!

3 day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakesh
Overall nice experience, but the extra cost for the private tour is not worth the money. In contrary to what we learned from reviews, the tour was exactly the same as the bigger group tours. The driver did take us to the same stops to shop stuff and to the same overpriced mediocre lunch spots - there was no advantage of the private tour other than more comfort on the road. Our driver was actually not amused that we did not buy stuff at the "berber shop" and other stops and obviously disliked our decision to go to the movie museum. Driver was a nice guy, but did not speak English well enough to actually explain stuff or hold a conversation. Furthermore, we did not spend the night in the desert at the mouhou camp but one of the other camps. Mouhou camp was one of the reasons we opted for the tour because it's a little bit further in the desert. That was still okay, as our Camp was indeed "similar". More annoying, however, was the fact that, despite booking Option 2 regarding accomodations (middle class) we spend the second night in precisely the hotel which was listed as example for the (cheaper) Option 1. Tour itself is a super touristic, but overall nice experience. The night in the Desert is nice and the landscapes are fantastic. However, keep in mind that the expensive private tour provides for no extra benefit compared to the bigger group tours in vans or busses besides travelling more comfortable and only with your own group.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended
Our 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour with Mouhou Tours was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we were picked up, everything was perfectly organized — comfortable transport, great timing, and the most welcoming guide. The camel ride at sunset, the peaceful desert camp under the stars, and the warmth of the Berber hospitality were beyond amazing. Each stop — the Ziz Valley, Todra Gorge, and Dades Valley — showed a new side of Morocco’s beauty. The desert camp was clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up. Our guide shared so much local culture and made the journey fun and personal. Highly recommend Mouhou Tours for anyone wanting a real Moroccan adventure — professional, friendly, and truly memorable!

BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fez.
How much does BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ) cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fez usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ) take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fez is not rushed.
Is BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Fez, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert )?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert )?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fez can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fez and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does BEST Fes to Marrakech desert tour 4 Days ( Merzouga Desert ) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fez within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fez?
+
On Outty we rank every Fez experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Day Trip to Chefchaouen from Fez ( instagram /Photos ), Fes to Marrakech: Merzouga & Ait Ben Haddou, 3 Days 2 Nights, 2 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Fes/Marrakech via Erg Chebbi. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fez?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fez?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
