Best part of our trip to El Salvador

Great grout outing. Our host Moises was very fun. The hike was a little difficult but worth the work. Lunch at the lake was fantastic.

Must do activity

The hike is good and at almost half of the time you are covered with the shade unlike other hikes. It’s intermediate and if you are physically ok you can do it easily. Our guide Diego was great and very knowledgeable about Salvadorian history, culture and even the type of plants and birds. He carried the whole group as some people had slower pace than others. The view from the top was amazing and worth the 3 hrs or so you are going to take to go up. The lake part was just eating in a lake view restaurant. The food was good. I had the seafood soaps which was interesting as they added the whole fish, crabs and shrimps in it. Overall a must do if you are in San Salvador. I actually logged more flights than Santorini and Petra hikes.

Must Do Experience.

The view was definitely worth the hike. This hike was intermediate level and our skills were less than so it was a bit hard on the way up. The way down felt like a breeze despite the rocky terrain a third of the way. Our Guide Diego was exceptional. He ensured the entire group including begginers completed the hike. He also took fantastic photos of us. The lunch food options were delicious and large portions. The view of the lake was also fatastic. The transportion was clean and well air conditioned. Recommend you are hyrated the night before and stretch. Bring plenty of water or electrolytes, hat for the unshaded parts of hike, and sunscreen. It was an amazing experience.

A must do in San Salvador

Great tour- Santa Anna hike was really good. It can be challenging for some people but it’s like an intermediate one. Our guide Diego was great explaining through the things while en route as well as on the hike itself. Really good and knowledgeable with Salvadoran culture as well as plants, and birds on the track. He did good carrying the whole group as well had different paces altogether so breaks wherever needed were taken. The view from the top was great. And the lunch at the lake was good too.

Is Best Day Tour: Santa Ana Volcano Hiking + Lake Coatepeque worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 894 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in San Salvador, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best Day Tour: Santa Ana Volcano Hiking + Lake Coatepeque?

What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Salvador?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Salvador?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
