What you'll see and do
Lindos
No tour in Rhodes is complete without visiting Lindos. Not just because of the 3rd century BC acropolis found there, or even because of the sugar-cubed houses and labyrinth of alleyways of the town loved by everyone who passes through. It’s because you follow exactly the same path and see almost the same views as the ancients who built the acropolis and the knights that used it as a place of worship and defence. That incredible vista of the Mediterranean Sea and St Paul’s Bay below … it’s exactly the same view that would have inspired them back in the day. The archaeological site; cosy streets with many shops, cafes, restaurants, and of course breath-taking views that you can pick out from the temple will reward you for your visit

Kalathos
The term ‘ceramic’ comes from the Greek word meaning ‘pottery’. Do you know that pottery has magic in it? Why? Because it comes from nature as a meeting of 3 elements: earth, water & fire. Earth and water are the raw materials, fire gives the object color and durability while human hearts and hands give them shape. Clay is the symbol of creativity, many myths describe it to be the material out of which the first men, plants, and animals come to be. The piece of clay will turn into a piece of art right in front of your eyes. Then the owner of this cosy workshop will invite you to taste their oil, honey, and some other products of their family.

Mandraki Harbour
Mandraki Harbour has been in use since ancient times and was formerly the military port of Rhodes; it was protected from attack by gigantic chains across its narrow mouth and later by the impregnable bulk of the Fort of St Nicholas, built in 1467 and still watching over the marina. Over the centuries the harbor was also a successful and rich trading port but these days its role in Rhodes life is entirely peaceful; a fetching clutch of billionaires’ super-yachts bob in the marina alongside traditional fishing boats and a multitude of tour boats, which depart every day in summer to visit islands off the coast of Rhodes – including Symi and Nisyros – as well as ferrying visitors to local beaches and on diving trips.

Old Town of Rhodes
Rhodes Old Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988, but it’s not your classic heritage spot and it’s certainly unlike the main town of any other Greek island. The streets are so well-preserved that you half expect a knight on horseback to ride past at any time. And that’s before you turn into the Ottoman or Jewish districts, which have a very different feel to them. And yet Rhodes town also retains a distinctive Greek island vibe. There are many shops and restaurants within the walls, particularly around central Hippokratous Square, but there are also quaint and quiet alleyways, adding to the charm of a town that is almost car-free.

The logistics were flawless
Honestly, I tend to avoid tours because they can feel overpriced and boring, especially with teens in tow. But this experience completely changed my perspective. The logistics were flawless, the van was clean and comfortable with reliable WiFi and great air conditioning, and everything ran on time. The guide was fantastic—bringing the history and sights to life in such an entertaining way that even my teenagers were hooked the whole time. A surprisingly enjoyable and stress-free experience!

A fan of organized trips
I went into this tour with low expectations since I’m not usually a fan of organized trips. Traveling with three teenagers is a challenge, though, so I gave it a shot—and I’m so glad I did. The entire setup was seamless, with a comfortable van that had both WiFi and proper air conditioning. The guide was the highlight, turning the experience into something exciting and engaging, almost like storytelling from a blockbuster movie. Even the kids stayed interested the entire time, which says a lot!

It made the whole day smooth, enjoyable
Tours are usually not my thing, but managing three teenagers on a trip isn’t easy, so I decided to book this—and it exceeded all expectations. The organization was top-notch, and the van was equipped with WiFi and strong air conditioning, which made a big difference. The guide was absolutely brilliant, explaining everything in such a fun and dynamic way that it kept the kids entertained throughout. It made the whole day smooth, enjoyable, and completely worth it.

Everything was incredibly well organized
I’m usually not a fan of guided tours—I find them expensive and often too slow-paced. But traveling with three teenagers left me with little choice, and I’m so glad I booked this one. Everything was incredibly well organized, from the smooth transportation to the comfortable van with working air conditioning and WiFi. What really stood out was the guide, who had an amazing way of telling stories—almost like a Marvel movie—which kept the kids fully engaged and off their phones. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip.

Worth every cent.
Listen, I hate tours. I usually find them pricey and slow. But how can you organize three teenagers? Impossible. I bit the bullet and booked it. The best decision I made. The logistics were winner, the van had wifi and the air conditioner was working. The guide managed to keep the kids off their phones by talking about the sites as if it were a Marvel movie.

Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rhodes.
How much does Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rhodes usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rhodes is not rushed.
Is Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rhodes can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Best Cruise-Friendly Rhodes Tour - Lindos, Old Town & Free Time start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rhodes within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rhodes?
+
On Outty we rank every Rhodes experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Makarounas Fishing Boat Trip with swimming stop and BBQ on board, Rhodes Exclusive Swim Cruise Cocktail Open bar & Gourmet Buffet, Athens cruise: Agistri, Moni/Metopi, Aegina with lunch & drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rhodes?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rhodes?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
