About this experience
A dynamic and immersive experience that blends Berlin’s war-torn history with its rich beer tradition. Walk through iconic WWII sites, then relax with German beer tastings at Berlin pubs in locations tied to the city’s past. Walk the streets where World War Two unfolded, wars were fought, and walls came down—then toast it all with Berlin’s finest brews. This is no dry lecture. It’s Berlin’s history, the way it was lived: intense, emotional, and always better with a drink. From Nazi resistance to WWII battles, we’ll trace the city’s darkest chapter—then raise a glass at the same pubs located where Berliners once schemed, mourned, and rebelled. This is not your typical walking tour. It’s a raw, immersive, story-driven journey through the heart of 20th-century history, guided by Berlin’s most passionate historians. Walk key WWII and Battle of Berlin locations with an expert storyteller and historic guide. Taste 3–4 Berlin beers in great Berlin pubs.

Brilliant tour
Had a near perfect tour with Cairan. The only small glitch was a little rain, which was force majeure and we could hide from in a beer hall. The tour itself was a brilliant mix of history lessons on the battle for Berlin, the Cold War and beer. A very nice surprise was the amount of German beer history. Cairan was incredibly knowledgeable about all the subjects and and an allround very nice guy to chat with.

Very infromative and fun.
First of all, a big thank you to Ciaran and this whole company. After missing a connection on my way to Berlin, I had to miss my originally scheduled tour on Monday....they could have cancelled but instead went out of their way to reschedule me on the tour for Thursday instead. They didn't have to do that and it was very much appreciated. :). The tour itself was great. One of the most informative tours I have ever taken and the local beers were delicious too. If you have an interest in Berlin's history through World War II, the Cold War and Berlin Wall... this is definitely the tour to be taking.

Brilliant combination and great experience.
We had a great time! A lot of very interesting sites, history, stories and information about the battle of Berlin to go along with just as much information about Berlin and beer. The whole tour took a bit over 3 hours but it felt shorter with many interesting conversations surrounding Berlin, beer, battlefields and other subjects. Cairan was our guide, he was great! We would absolutely recommend this for anyone interested in beer and battlefield stories! It was well worth it!

Excellent tour
Cairan very knowledgeable great explanation and tour added benefit Paul. My only negative comment is the tour tells you it ends at the start destination which it doesn't so that just needs updating Highly recommend booking this early in your trip for good places to also eat and drink RIP George

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.
How much does Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer cost?
+
Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer take?
+
Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.
Is Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Berlin Beers & Battlefields Tour: War History and German Beer start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Berlin?
+
On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Berlin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Berlin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
