    1. Jardines de Belvedere

The Belvedere complex is an architectural masterpiece of a bygone aristocratic splendor designed to project a sense of earthly harmony. This terrestrial utopia was founded in the first decades of the 18th c. as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, the commander-in-chief of the Austrian army and one of the most successful military commanders in modern European history. Among the most significant buildings of the 18th c., the grandiose palace of the Upper Belvedere is a masterstroke of Baroque architecture while the surrounding formal gardens were inspired by classical antiquity.

    Belvedere Palace and its Masterpieces

Wow what an incredible Art Collection you find here. The painting of Napoleon on its horse in real is amazing. The garden is inviting for a relaxing stroll and sit down to enjoy this beautiful Castle. The details in the artwork are stunning, and seeing such famous history up close is a wonderful experience. It is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon walking through the green paths and taking in the architecture. We thoroughly enjoyed our time looking at the collection and relaxing outside, and it is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates beautiful things.

Our guide , Annelie, was a real expert. We so enjoyed our time with her and learned so much. Not just about the art in the palace, but the architecture and history of Vienna. Her pacing was excellent throughout the tour. We never felt rushed and we were always able to stop and ask more questions. We very much enjoyed our time with her and would highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your tour. Hope to see you on another Insight Cities tour in Prague, Berlin, Budapest, Vienna, or Salzburg. Safe travels!

Wonderfully informative tour with Lisle. She knows her art and history and customizes her tour to your interests.

Lisle is great, very knowledgeable about the art and history of Vienna. She also tells many stories which deepened our understanding. She managed to boil down a huge art collection into 2+ hours of focused viewing, especially of Klimt and his period. And her description of the origins of the palace and Prince Eugen were great. Lisle is friendly, personable and very competent. She helped to spark our understanding of Vienna and Austria overall on our 1st day in the city!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your tour. Hope to see you on another Insight Cities tour in Prague, Berlin, Budapest, Vienna, or Salzburg. Safe travels!

Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $177 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 81 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Belvedere Palace and Museum Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
