What you get

    About this experience

It starts from Bellagio and sails towards the heart of the lake centre: calm waters, historic residences and botanical parks that slope towards the shore. From the lake, every corner tells something — a hidden loggia, a balcony overlooking the water, a promontory reflected in the basin below. The main stop is Villa del Balbianello, one of the most sought-after residences in Lake Como and the least accessible independently. Entries are limited : including it in the itinerary guarantees privileged access that many cannot obtain. Terraced viewpoints, landscaped park and understated architecture form a whole of extraordinary charm. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Your ticket includes access to the park, not indoors. Stay on site: about one hour. The return time is assigned to the confirmation. The Villa does not allow exemptions: those who miss the scheduled boarding lose the return service to Bellagio.

    1. Villa Del Balbianello

Villa del Balbianello is among the most coveted places on Lake Como — and also among the most difficult to reach independently. Access is limited and places sell out quickly – including it on the tour means ensuring an experience that many visitors cannot live. Terraces suspended over the water, terraced gardens and period architecture make up a setting of rare beauty, to be explored without haste. The tour includes VIP access to the Villa gardens.

Great couple of hours or so

Great tour we booked as admission tickets had sold that day. Was a great boat trip too

They do not sell real tickets for the villa.

Booked 1 month in advance: boat trip + skip-the-line access to the Villa del Balbianello gardens, 1:20 PM slot. Cancelled by email at 12:15 PM due to "dangerous weather conditions" — even though the rain had stopped and boats, including theirs until ~12:30 PM, were circulating on the lake. Their ticket office then gave us another version: gardens "sold out today and tomorrow," confirmed in writing on WhatsApp ("No tickets with us"). We walked up: tickets bought in 30 minutes at the villa's official ticket office. At 2:30 PM, their boats docked at the villa's pier (photo). Three contradictory versions, a "VIP access" paid for but never provided. Refunded, but tickets repurchased out of our own pocket and the crossing never took place.

    Poor service

Extremely disappointing experience. The service was very poor from start to finish. The staff arrived late themselves, yet when we arrived at the exact time of our booked reservation, they refused to let us in. Instead, we were forced to wait for more than an hour without any clear explanation or apology. During that time, the staff made no real effort to solve the situation or communicate with us properly. Even worse, we were not the only ones affected—several other tourists were left waiting as well and were also ignored when asking for help. Despite paying for a scheduled experience, we received no assistance, no solution, and no consideration for the inconvenience they caused. The lack of professionalism, organization, and customer service was shocking. I would not recommend this company to anyone, as they clearly do not value their customers’ time or treat them with respect.

    terrible experience

Terrible experience, they did not respect the ferry departure forecasts in the slightest both on the way there and on the way back, very long wait under the scorching sun without a minimum of shelter.. They treat the tourist only as revenue.... I recommend using the taxi boats, there are many and you don't have to wait in the sun

    Don’t waste your money!

They oversold the boat by at least 10 people, making people stand. Playing loud crappy country music didn’t help!

Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Como.

How much does Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens cost?

    +

Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Como usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Como is not rushed.

Is Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (1.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lake Como, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Como can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Como and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bellagio : shared boat tour to Villa del Balbianello Gardens start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Como within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lake Como?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lake Como experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Lake Como & Lugano: 2 Countries in 1 Day, Boat Cruise, Como, Bellagio & Varenna: Small Group from Milan with Boat Cruise, Small-Group Lake Como: Bellagio, Varenna, Hidden Gorge & Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lake Como?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lake Como?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
