Had a mixup with the booking but they made it right!!!

Was supposed to do the excursion on the 29 on our 20th anniversary . The ticket says 4pm. So we wait at the lobby at 3:30. So as it gets close to 4pm nobody comes . I go thru the app to get in touch with the provider. He tells me that something happen and he didn’t have my booking. But he said he could do it tomorrow. We was a lil upset cause we wanted to do it to cap off a great day we had . But besides that the actually horseback ride and the people at the ranch were great!!! Well trained horses and easy to ride for beginners. All in all it was a great experience and well worth the money. Would definitely recommend maybe read the fine print and contact the provider yourself . That’s the only negative thing about 3rd party booking. But like I said the staff and the horses were great!!!

Beach sunset horseback ride Punta Cana

Driver never came. Customer service person said we had enough time and would be picked up at our hotel. We talked to her before 3 pm for the 4 pm ride.

Response from the operator: We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. According to our records, our customer service team confirmed before 3:00 PM that there was still enough time for your 4:00 PM pickup and that the driver would arrive at your inhotel. We sincerely apologize that the pickup did not happen as expected. This is not the level of service we strive to provide. Please contact us directly with your booking details so we can investigate what happened and work toward a fair resolution.

    Disorganized, Misleading, and Uncomfortable Experience

This was not a good introduction to the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the most unorganized excursions I’ve ever been on. From the start, things felt off. We were essentially handed over to someone described as a worker’s friend who helped look after the horses, rather than a clear, professional guide. There was a significant language barrier, and while I tried to communicate in Spanish, we were never given a clear explanation of where we were going or how the trail worked. For most of the excursion, we wandered through what appeared to be a construction area and then an open field, unsure of what to expect. We stopped for what was called a “break” for the horses at a small market. While I understand and appreciate supporting local vendors, it felt less like a break and more like being positioned so we could be sold items. During this stop, I asked about the horses and was told they didn’t have names, which aligned with their overall unkempt appearance and added to my concern about their care. As we continued, another individual, also described as a friend of the worker, followed us and repeatedly insisted on taking photos. We declined multiple times, as we simply wanted to enjoy the ride, but he continued to follow us anyway. When we finally reached the beach, we only rode the horses for about three minutes before being asked to dismount for yet another “break.” We then sat in the sun for approximately 45 minutes, which ended up being the majority of the excursion. During this time, we were persistently pressured to purchase the unsolicited photos, which were low quality. The same individual continued to follow us around the beach, approaching us at different spots and repeatedly asking for payment. At one point, I asked our guide when we would be leaving, but he ignored me. His friend offered to translate only if we agreed to buy a photo. After speaking with the guide in Spanish, they laughed and made an offensive gesture that made the situation even more uncomfortable. We later learned that they are not actually permitted to ride horses on the beach, which explains why we were asked to get off almost immediately. This made the entire experience feel misleading, as the beach ride was a major reason we booked this excursion for my spouse's birthday. Overall, we spent far more time sitting and being pressured to spend money than actually riding horses. The experience felt disorganized, misleading, and at times uncomfortable. I left feeling disappointed and, honestly, uneasy. I would strongly recommend booking through a different excursion company.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, especially as it was such a meaningful occasion for you and your partner. What you describe is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we take your comments very seriously. We sincerely apologize for the lack of organization, unclear communication, and any situation that made you feel uncomfortable during your excursion are particularly concerned about the issues you mentioned regarding the guide, the language barrier, and the presence of individuals not acting in a professional manner. This is not aligned with our standards, and we are currently reviewing this internally to ensure it does not happen again. Regarding the photo situation, we want to be clear that we do not tolerate any form of pressure or harassment toward our guests. Your experience in this regard is unacceptable, and it will be addressed with urgency. We also understand your disappointment concerning the limited riding time on the beach. Local regulations can affect certain activities, but this should always be clearly communicated in advance. We regret that this was not properly explained, which led to a misleading impression of the experience. Additionally, we appreciate you raising concerns about the horses' condition. Their care and well-being are extremely important to us, and we will be conducting a thorough review to ensure all standards are being met. We would truly appreciate the opportunity to follow up with you directly and make this right. Please contact us privately with your booking details so we can assist you further. Once again, we sincerely apologize for your experience and thank you for your valuable feedback.

    This is a great activity...

This is a great activity for kids or inexperienced riders. The horses know what to do on their own. It's a nice relaxing walk on the beach. If you want to do advanced riding than book the private ride.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much

Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana cost?

    +

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beach Sunset Horseback Ride in Punta Cana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
