Battambang Provincial Hall/Governor's Residence is a magnificent heritage building located in the heart of Battambang City along the west bank of the Sangkae River. Originally commissioned in 1905 by the final Thai governor of the region, Lord Katathon Chhum, it was designed by Italian architects from Bangkok in a grand European villa style. However, following the 1907 Franco-Siamese Treaty that returned Battambang to Cambodia, the governor sold the property to the French before ever living in it. It then served as the office and residence for high-ranking French officials, was briefly used for food storage by the Khmer Rouge, and functioned as the provincial administrative headquarters until 2005. Today, it operates as the Battambang Heritage Museum.

A very nice tour to Battambang /Very nice tour to Battambang
We had booked this day tour, which we were completely enthusiastic about. Our guide Mao and our driver Mr. Strictly were punctual, very accommodating and decidedly friendly. Mao is an excellent, competent guide who also answered all our questions and responded to all our wishes. We visited beautiful places that we would hardly have found on our own. The team also understood how to coordinate the tour situationally, so that flexibility was available at all times. At each point we had plenty of time to enjoy. Overall, the tour was highly recommended, we would book it again. We booked this day trip and were thoroughly impressed. Temples, Caves, Bats, and Trains!
Thean was the greatest guide we could have hoped for! Our family speaks both Khmer and English, so Thean accommodated in 2 languages to our extreme delight. We toured the Angkor temples of greater Battambang, visiting ruins, rice fields, Khmer wats, and even rode on open-top bamboo train cars powered by lawnmower engines! Great sights, sounds, food, caves, bats, history, and fun! Thean knows his Khmer history, so ask him to dive deep into the legacy and legends of ancient Cambodia! We will definitely call on our friend, Thien (Vanthean Rang) in the near future!

+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
