Tour with Mayi to Monserrat
This was my first time in Spain, and I’m so glad my friend and I decided somewhat last minute to book this tour to Montserrat! We had such a wonderful experience, and Mayi was an incredible guide from beginning to end. The meeting point was a little difficult for us to find at first, but once we figured it out and got settled on the bus, everything went smoothly. The bus was very comfortable, and on the drive to the mountain, the guides gave us a little history lesson about the area and what we would be seeing, which I really enjoyed. We took the trolley up the mountain to the monastery, and although it was definitely a steep ride, it was absolutely magical! Going through the clouds and seeing the mountains from that high up was an experience I’ll never forget. Once we reached the top, we had a short tour of the grounds and chose to go up to see the Black Madonna. We also walked out toward the cliffside to take photos, and the views were breathtaking! My only real complaint is that I wish we had been given more free time at Montserrat. Seeing the Black Madonna took up most of our free time, so we didn’t have much of a chance to wander around or visit the shops. We still made it work, though! If you want to walk out to some of the viewpoints, keep in mind that it does take a little time to get there and back, but if you’re a fast walker, you should be fine. After Montserrat, we headed to a beautiful winery for a tour and tasting. The grounds were gorgeous, the wine was great, and it was such a nice way to end the day. I wasn’t personally a huge fan of the lunch/snack that was served since it was mostly cured meats, which aren’t really my thing, but that’s obviously personal preference and didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the overall experience. Hands down, this tour was worth the money. And I cannot recommend Mayi enough! She was funny, considerate, incredibly informative, and made the entire experience so much fun. I would 100% book another tour just to have Mayi as my guide again! Thank you, Mayi! We had the BEST time and made some amazing memories on our first trip to Spain! 🇪🇸⛰️🍷❤️

Why this scores 87
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.
How much does Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.
Is Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 525 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons?
+
Around 184 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Barcelona to Montserrat Tour: Basilica, Transfers & Add-Ons start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Barcelona?
+
Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Barcelona?
+
May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Barcelona?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
