2. The Grand Palace

   Located in the center of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was the official home of Thai kings from Rama I through Rama V during the Rattanakosin period. In the past, the palace also housed the remains of monarchs and senior royals before their cremation ceremonies. The complex is divided into two key areas: the revered Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the former royal living quarters.
