Memorable Bangkok Tour with Katie!!!
Tour was excellent.. The Guide Katie is very knowledgeable and accommodative … She customized for us and took to the perfect locations and guided very professionally until last moment of the tour… Katie’s association has made us to feel herself as one of our family member is guiding. We are a family and we enjoyed the tour very much.. Highly recommended..

Bangkok Tour Guide Misadventure
We were looking for a unique tour with areas of Bangkok that would not be obvious which we outlined in our original request. We were very specific about not going to Temples. We were shown 2. Technically, one of them was a community centre with a heavy emphasis on worship. Pat, our tour guide, was over an hour early. It was clearly stated that we would be picked up from our hotel at 14.30. We happened to be in the lobby at 13.30 when he said that the tour company had mixed something up as the Jim Thompson house tour should begin by 14.00. I asked if it was possible to get food en route. He said it should be fine but later made no efforts to address that. We were clear that we had just arrived in Bangkok and had intended to leave enough time for lunch. Communication was challenging. We know that we have been to Thailand and don't speak more than a few words of Thai. However, it was obvious from our booking that we are British and it was very challenging to understand what he was saying the entire time. However, not wanting to offend him, for the 3-4 hours we politely attempted him until the 2nd Temple. His approach to transportation was haphazard. I did not realise that we were expected to pay for his transportation, across the taxi boat, sky train and other train in addition to our own. We were fortunate that we had recently taken out enough cash. The taxi boat journey included him, being unclear, on which taxi boat to take in which direction to get the boat. This was evident from him guiding us on the wrong taxi boat heading in the wrong direction initially. He did manage to rearrange the time of the staff of the Jim Thompson tour to 14.00 which we still managed to be 10 minutes late to. The tour overall, other than the Jim Thompson house, felt unstructured and he did not seem clear on the public train and sky train directions. He spouted random facts at us as we happened upon places on the various routes of transportation around Bangkok. We ended the tour earlier than he anticipated after the second Temple as at this stage the tour seemed entirely aimless. He seemed surprised at this as it took him a moment to understand that we had had enough of his guidance at this point. He did start to list all the directions we would have to take to get back to our hotel via public transport. In my opinion, his intention here was clear, namely, from his unhappy manner, showing us that he had the upper hand in this situation, attempting to bamboozle us with routes he knew we wouldn't know. Saying, “do you really think you'll remember all that?” sarcastically. Again, this is my perspective on how it ended. My husband suggested that perhaps he was expressing concern about us not being able to navigate our way back to the hotel. However, if this was the case, why did he not check that we got back okay or shared written details by WhatsApp on the route back? He didn't bank on us having the Grab app which got us back cheaply and efficiently without him. Perhaps more cheaply than if we'd paid for the 3 of us to journey back together. Based on this experience, and paying more than what we thought we would pay, for less value, neither of us would recommend this tour to anyone. In fact we would recommend anyone very much avoid this tour altogether. You are better off researching your own places of interest and navigating the efficient public transport system on your own.

Good value and informative!
Miss Sonia is a kind and charming guide. We appreciated her time as she led us to various sites in Bangkok and answered all of our questions. Three hours is not really enough to see much but the tour gave us a good taste of Bangkok’s highlights.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.
How much does Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option) cost?
+
Prices start at $71 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.
Is Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option)?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bangkok Private Walking Tour with A Pro Guide (Tour Car Option) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bangkok?
+
On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bangkok?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bangkok?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
