Rafting with Captain Lennox was excellent

Although things started very rough with the pick up, we enjoyed we the bamboo raft ride, and let me tell you, we hit the jackpot with our captain. Before I delve into the experience, I want to acknowledge that the customer support team at Viator was very helpful. So, Captain Lennox, a proud Rastaman, turned that river into a full jungle masterclass. This man would casually pull over, climb INTO the trees, and come back down with things for us to try like it was a floating farmers market. We learned about the power of allspice and guinea root, and he even showed us castor oil seeds and explained how they’re used. He made us straws out of bamboo. He cut open a fresh coconut for us to drink right there on the raft. Then he cut sugarcane, drizzled it with lime, and we sucked on that sweet, tangy goodness as we floated downriver. It was part nature tour, part cooking show, part pure joy. We learned so much. The time flew by. If you get Captain Lennox, consider yourself lucky. This wasn’t just a raft ride, it was an experience we’ll be talking about for years. Highly, highly recommend!

    Amazing experience with Alex.

Had the best time bamboo rafting on the Lethe River with our raft captain Alex — seriously a 10/10 experience. He was super attentive, respectful, and just overall made sure we were good the whole time. Definitely a vibe! Alex even took us to his dad along the river, who served us the BEST jerk chicken we've ever had. No joke — we’re still talking about it! We already decided that next time we're in Jamaica, we’re coming straight from the airport to Lethe to see Alex and his dad. Definitely book with Alex — trust, you won’t regret it!

Amazing Rafting experience in Lethe River 10/10

Great experience, with a friendly bunch of lads who run it. This is much cheaper than the other rafting companies which are usually booked through the hotels. Transport to Lethe river is not included , we had our own car so this wasn’t an issue. Although I’m sure you can arrange upon booking. Upon arrival to Lethe river, a couple of guys from Irie bamboo rafting tours approached our car and asked if we wanted to do a bamboo rafting experience. We did not have a reservation but the guys took us on the river straight away no problem. The price they offered was so much cheaper than other rafting companies and you get more for your money. They escort each person onto the bamboo raft , one at a time so anyone with a fear of water will be reassured. Seat cushions can be changed on request, just ask the guys are really accommodating. During the rafting experience there is music playing, there are stalls all along the banks of the river, to get drinks, food , sugar cane and other products. There is reggae, bashment music playing in the bamboo raft, but can request other music if required. This is the only bamboo rafting tour that takes you up and down the river and returns you to your starting point. We were a family of six, and we all loved this tour. A couple of our group also selected to pay for the leg limestone massage and said it was worth the extra cost. All throughout the rafting down the river, the ‘captain’ told us a few facts about the area but nothing too boring and kept it always fun and comfortable. All the guys are chilled and all about good vibes. This is a must when visiting Jamaica and would 100% recommend this bamboo rafting tour.

Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.

How much does Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe) cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe) take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.

Is Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe)?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bamboo rafting & limestone massage on the Great River!(lethe) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?

    +

On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Montego Bay?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
