Cattle Market
This is a cattle market and the Islands are crammed full of tourists ruining the natural beauty of the place . The speed boat journey is noisy and the fumes in the harbour add to the discomfort - the place should be managed better or tourists banned altogether to protect the islands and the coral . The place is just for tourists to be ripped off - and the Thai government should intervene and regulate the place - please do not go , it’s just like a cattle market - avoid like the plague

Not recommended!
The trip started out with a2.5 hour transfer that was not mentioned when booking. When we arrived at an extremely busy dispatch terminal we were herded from one desk to another and barked orders at to sign this and that then herded towards a breakfast buffet that was OK. We then had to sit through another hour long wait and endure a rep try and encourage people to buy sea shoes and flippers..neither of which were needed. When the time came to board our boat we were put amongst the most rude and miserable people you could hope to meet..mostly Chinese and Hungarians. Once again the rep who named himself Joker..and shouted at everyone through a megaphone..tried to convince people to pay for the onboard photographer. We arrived at the first stop at a beautiful Cove that was thoroughly spoilt by the sheer numbers of boats all competing for moorings around the perimeter. What should have been a serene spot was spoilt by the noise of boat engines revving including the many longboats which have what can only be described as a suped up lawn mower engines belching out smoke. We were able to swim in a tiny area for fear of being minced by boat engines! We were whisked past the viking cave and monkey beach...have your telephoto lenses ready! The lunch stop was another round of masses of boats competing for space along the beach to drop you off and then shouted at by reps and herded into huge restaurant areas. The food I must say was very good. No sooner had we finished than Joker was on his megaphone ordering us all back on the boat for our final stop for some free time ( less than an hour) at bamboo island. What they didn't tell us until we arrived was that it was low tide and once again the tiny area roped off we were allowed to swim in was only 18 inches deep! So everyone was trampling over coral habitats of the fish..in fact we got bitten on our calves by a fish! The photographer spent the entire trip taking pictures of a couple of Chinese girl who were being called by the Hungarian men onboard to cavort in a variety of positions...! The only picture we has taken was a hurried shot of us snorkeling which was a shame we wanted to purchase more underwater shots. When we got back to the terminal we were asked to pay nearly £40 for the picture and when I asked if we could see the picture we were told to just provide an email. I insisted we see the picture and the guy looked puzzled and scrolled through and asked us to identify it was us in the picture! How was he going to send us the picture via email without knowing who we were? Another scam I think! We didn't purchase! Having done other excursions to the islands in thailand and it being a calm beautiful day with plenty of time to relax and swim or snorkel this was a bitter disappointment..the numbers of people should be limited. I wouldn't recommend this trip.

Holiday boat trip
Great service from pick up to drop off. Sea star were very well organised and made the entire experience great. Boy(name of the guide) and his team were very helpful, informative and friendly. Gave information about each stop and very clear on timings. Would highly recommend the trip if it’s your first time in Thailand.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak cost?
+
Prices start at $3065 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bamboo & Phi Phi Islands, Maya & Pileh Bay Day Tour From Khao Lak start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
