Beautiful island, beautiful culture, beautiful people!

My mother Misbah and I spent a week in Bali from 18th to 25th May; included in our hotel package were transfers to and from the airport by the 'Discova' tour company. We used Discova for the whole week.  We were met immediately at the airport and had a very courteous driver, Gusti. Gusti was very welcoming and communicated very well. We were pleasantly surprised that Gusti also took us back to the airport for our departure. It was more like meeting a friend as he has such a pleasant manner. Widnyana Mijil from Discova called us via Gusti en route to the hotel and arranged a meeting to enquire what else we required from the Discova services. He brought information regarding the types of private tours offered. It was straightforward to make a plan for our week. Helpful suggestions were offered, and during the week he responded immediately via WhatsApp to any query we had. We went to the Seminyak flea market and Denpassar with Marianta. He was courteous and even managed to stop at a supermarket to find something we hadn't been able to find in other shops; a great help. Made Swastika took us to Sanur and Icon Mall. He ensured we exchanged numbers to communicate via WhatsApp; it was never an issue to meet. Made was pleasant and communication was easy.  A Tanah Lot Sunset tour had already been arranged with a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site Pura Taman Ayun. Our driver was Sapta and guide Edwin. Edwin was very eager, proud of his Balinese heritage and had an immense amount of knowledge. He pointed out good spots for photographs, and also offered to take some of us. It was a pleasure to be in his company, we learned a lot about Balinese culture and life. Sapta was courteous and he and Edwin managed the time very well.  We had another tour guided by Edwin. We went to Kintamani, had lunch with a view of Mount Batur and had several stops along the way. Our driver was Adnyana. We stopped at a place that made and sold traditional batikware, saw a cultural performance, visited a traditional wood carver (who even lightheartedly performed for us wearing different masks!), stopped at the monkey forest in Ubud, then Kintamani and finally Goa Gaja the elephant cave. On both days, Edwin provided us with a full commentary along the way and politely shared any cultural dos and don'ts regarding visiting temples. He is clearly very passionate about his work and love for Bali, culturally as well as the flora and fauna. Adnyana was a very safe driver and during such a long day with a lot of stops and hilly roads he traversed the roads effortlessly.  Adnyana was our driver for our last full day in Bali. He made a lot of very helpful suggestions regarding souvenir shopping. We had no issue with finding each other after each stop in car parks. We enjoyed his company and were very pleased that he offered his input with the plan for the day.  All of the Discova drivers, our guide Edwin, plus Widnyana, the person who organised our week, were very courteous, helpful, polite and knowledgeable. Communication was never an issue. They were extremely punctual and at our hotel at least 30 minutes early but never rushed us. All cars were comfortable, well maintained, air-conditioned, and we were given cold bottled water.  Not only were they all helpful by sharing their knowledge of Bali, but even more valuable to my mother Misbah and I, was hearing personal stories to help us to understand a little bit more about the many lives of those who live across Bali. We had a wonderful time, love the sincerity and honour that the people of Bali carry in their daily lives, the rich culture and customs such as the colourful daily offerings found everywhere, the welcoming smiles and the big hearts.  Om Swastiastu and suksma to all that we met at Discova in Bali.   We sincerely trust that the management at Discova will share our feedback with all of those my mother Misbah and I have mentioned, commend them, and pass along our heartfelt suksma!  It is these people that represent your company, and it is simply because of them that we recommend your company to others.

Response from the operator: Om Swastiastu. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this beautiful, detailed review of your time in Bali with your mother, Misbah. We are absolutely delighted to hear that from the moment you arrived, Gusti, Widnyana, and our entire team provided a seamless, friendly, and deeply memorable experience that made you feel like you were traveling with friends. It is incredibly rewarding to read your high praise for the exceptional care, punctuality, and professionalism demonstrated throughout your stay. From our drivers' effortless navigation—including Marianta, Made Swastika, Sapta, and Adnyana—to the spotless, air-conditioned cars stocked with chilled water, we always aim to maximize your comfort. We are especially proud of Edwin’s immense knowledge and passion for Balinese culture, which shone brightly during your tours to Tanah Lot, Pura Taman Ayun, and Kintamani. Hearing that your connections on the road and the personal stories shared meant so much to you both touches our hearts deeply, as this sincerity is truly the essence of Bali. Please rest assured that your heartfelt feedback will be shared directly with Widnyana, Edwin, and all of your drivers. They are the true reflection of Discova, and they will be properly commended for going above and beyond to earn your recommendation. Suksma to you and Misbah for choosing us, and we sincerely hope to welcome you both back to our beautiful island in the future.

Fantastic Tour with an Exceptional Guide

We had an incredible time on the Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch tour. Our guide, Suman Tara, was outstanding, everything you’d hope for in a local guide and so much more. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole day effortless. The Barong Dance was fascinating, lunch overlooking Mount Batur was unforgettable, and on the way back, we were lucky enough to see a beautiful local procession to the temple. Suman immediately stopped so we could take it all in, a truly special experience. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled you had an incredible time on our tour and that Sumantara provided such an outstanding experience. It sounds like you had a truly memorable day, and we're delighted that you enjoyed the Barong Dance, the lunch with the Mount Batur view, and the special moment of seeing the local procession. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Suman. We can't wait to welcome you back again soon.

Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuta.

How much does Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $63 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuta is not rushed.

Is Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuta and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bali: Barong Dance and Kintamani with Mount Batur View Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuta?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ubud Private Tour - All Inclusive Premium Experience, East Bali Tour: Gate of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah, Ubud Day Tour: Sacred Monkey Forest, Tegenungan Waterfall, Rice Terrace. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuta?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuta?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
