Basic class, not hands on
I had different expectations so found the experience to be average. The people were very nice, the market visit was good, there was no rice field visit. This is not a hands on cooking class, almost all the prep is done and its really just mixing a few things around. A lot of sharing of tasks rather than being able to have a go at everything and learn. For me, this was not the type of experience i was after, but if youre after a more beginner cooking class, then this could be more suitable for you. The recipes are printed on basic A4 paper and stapled. Not really a recipe book you hold onto and keep using. The people were very lovely, but I wanted to give an honest view of the experience

Highly recommended - delicious food and such a lovely family who run the class.
Such a fun and delicious class! The family who run it are absolutely lovely and the 10 part meal was beautiful. We loved doing this as a family.

Beautiful day!
Really kind and helpful people who picked up up from the hotel, took me to market, took me to a stunning coffee garden to sample some coffees, and showed me how to cook a feast of Balinese food which was more than enough to eat, for only 350k idr (less than £20 in UK) The best tea was the mangosteen, best food was the curry and the noodles in my opinion, and I loved the view of the jungle and mountain from the kitchen... what an amazing backdrop to cook to!

Highly Recommend if you want to learn the basics of Balinese cooking
Booked this as a surprise birthday present for my wife. Great experience from the visit to the local market to creating the banana leaf offering to learning the basics of Balinese cooking. A good 2-3 hour experience which ends with you eating the spread you spent time cooking.

My first ever cooking class experience at Ubud- Bali's amazing cooking class
This cooking class was very well organised, starting with the initial meeting at the traditional markets to see how the locals buy the food they use each day to cook. The structure of the course to the organisation was suberb. The owners spoke great English, and the kitchen was extremely clean and organised. The view was great, sitting and eating our final cook of 10 different dish components. Well done, it was really enjoyable!

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bali Amazing Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Bali Amazing Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bali Amazing Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Bali Amazing Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 63 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bali Amazing Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bali Amazing Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bali Amazing Cooking Class?
+
Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bali Amazing Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
