Badlands Bike Adventure
We booked with Black Hills Tour Company, and Kevin was our guide. We had a great time! He was so knowledgeable about the badlands, the geology, the wildlife, and the history of the area. The bike tour was really great! I do feel like I got a bit of a workout, but the upgrade to e-bikes made the whole ride a fun experience. Every stop he had a new fact for us, and after the bike tour we went and looked for fossils. Kevin helped us spot some on our own, and also found some really great ones to show us! He took group pictures, as well as a few while we were out biking. Every stop he had water and snacks, and the lunch was very good. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit the badlands. It was a really exciting way to see them.
Response from the operator: Thanks Anna! So glad to hear you had a great time. We agree it's such a fun way to see the Badlands and e-bikes make it so much more enjoyable and accessible to everyone. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

Beautiful Badlands by bicycle
What an outstanding ride! In my opinion, the only way to truly appreciate the Badlands. Our guide, Joel is a gem. He's so knowledgeable of not only the park, but its unique geology and archeological history and really added to our enjoyment of the tour. Truly the highlight of our time in SD
Response from the operator: Thanks Kristy! We think the Badlands on bicycle is the absolute best way to see the park - I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as we do! Its always so great to have a guide who really knows the area, I think it adds so much to your experience - glad Joel could deliver that for you!

Breathtaking and Educational Bike Tour
Had a wonderful tour with Joel . The scenery was amazing and his knowledge of the Native American experience , paleontology, and local history was a great addition to our ride. In addition - we learned that cucumbers are a great addition to a sandwich!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with Joel and the amazing scenery.

Biking through the Badlands - a must do experience for cycling lovers
We had high expectations for this bike tour and they were all exceeded! Kevin was an amazing guide. He had so much knowledge of the area, drove us around before we started biking to look for wildlife, and took great pictures of us biking. It was amazing to not have to worry about any logistics and still get an amazing ride in - bikes, helmets, water, snacks and even lunch after were all provided. Highly recommend to those who enjoy biking!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed your bike tour and Kevin.

Freedom - biking in the Badlands
The highlight of my trip, biking in the Badlands. Amazing scenery, fresh air, sunshine and exercise. I was able to enjoy the freedom of the desert, knowing that the biking equipment was good and that regular checks at viewpoints along the way ensured that the experience was safe. I would love to do this tour again some time.
Response from the operator: Thank you! Biking in the Badlands, we agree is such a wonderful way to see the park. So glad we could add something special to your trip here and thank you for your review!

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rapid City.
How much does Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private cost?
+
Prices start at $375 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rapid City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rapid City is not rushed.
Is Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rapid City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rapid City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rapid City and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Badlands National Park by Bicycle - Private start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rapid City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rapid City?
+
Rapid City is the base for Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse tours, Badlands National Park loops, Custer State Park wildlife drives and Black Hills cave visits. On Outty we rank every Rapid City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Rushmore and Black Hills Tour with Two Meals and a Music Variety Show, Bus Tour of Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills, PREMIER PRIVATE Tour: Mt Rushmore, CrazyHorse & Custer State Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rapid City?
+
May to September, with Sturgis crowding early August. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rapid City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
