Don't let Maui do other English tours ever

The guide, Maui, doesn't like to speak in English, but the tour is sold like a bilingual tour Spanish/English. He speaks English than he thinks, but he doesn't like that and that becomes clear to every English-speaker on the tour. Plus, the client service was writing me on Whatsapp during the daytrip because the guide was sure I would not respect his directives... Totally passive agressive way to do business...

Response from the operator: The guide spoke english and spanish giving out information about the tour on the way to Bacalar You took a hostile aproach towards the guide from the start, almost challenging his instruccions about the preservation of the Bacalar Lagoon You made the rest of the english speakers uncomfortable

    The guide Maui was...

The guide Maui was amazing, made we feel very welcome as I was travelling by myself. The journey is super long and the day I went the weather was a bit rubbish but the lagoon is worth it!! The captain of the boat on the boat tour seemed to really know what he was talking about, if only I did!’ My Spanish wasn’t really good enough to understand everything he was saying. Maybe ask for a boat with someone who can translate for you if you need it.

Response from the operator: Our staff do their best to make our travelers to feel welcome, we are glad that you got to enjoy the lagoon and the cenotes We hope to welcome you again for your next adventure, we'll keep improving!

    WARNING. WARNING.

WARNING WARNING. This trip starts with a 5 hour non stop coach ride. Then the places you visit are very nothing like the photos, the are dirty, the lunch is at 4pm and the food is waiting on the table with flies all over when you arrive. At the end of the day another 5 hour non stop coach ride. How the driver was able to safely drive for that time I do not know.

Response from the operator: The transportation time was described and advertised as a full day activity at the content of the tour page. You should have been aware that there were long transportation times. This review does not have any truth in it, the times you claimed, in reality were not true The places to visit are exactly as the photos, every single thing advertised is included in the tour All locations are under constant maintance, they weren't any kind of dirty nor the food had flies This review was made by someone who wanted a free tour and didn't get it.

Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen cost?

    +

Prices start at $146 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen take?

    +

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bacalar Tour From Cancun & Playa del Carmen start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
