Wonderful experience!! 5 star!
We were running late-caught in traffic- and we were welcomed very graciously. Our entire experience was 5 star. Loved hearing about the history of the tiles and then painting our own. Thank you so much!!

Nice experience but can do with improvements
The host was very enthousiastic and nice, she stayed with us during the painting but she didn’t join us. We arrived a few minutes early but the owner of the bar wasn’t there yet so we had to wait on him. When he arrived it was unsure where we would be painting, but a few minutes later the host started setting up everything. When she set everyting up we started with painting the 1 tile with acrylic paint. This didn’t need to go in an oven, but because of this, it still needed a protection layer, unfortunately she didn’t provide us with that, instead she told us we should do that when we got home. The room where we were painting was very comfortable at first but nearing the end there were a lot of people around us setting up stuff and mocing things around. When we finished up we got to put our tile in paper kitschen towels and a free supermarket bread bag. This is no protection for a tile that you need to bring back home in your luggage. We suggest some bubble wrap. In conclusion: the host was sweet en enthousiastic, the room was crowded, the quality was meh, the protection for the tile was below par and the organisation lacked.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback Karen, I would have loved to hear your thoughts when I asked everyone both at the beginning and again at the end to please let me know if there was anything you would like to see improved or changed, but I'm puzzled as both you and your daughter insisted enthusiastically that it was a great experience and you were very happy? I am honestly sad to hear this difficult review because I truly want everyone to have a stellar experience but I'm glad to know your thoughts so I can address them! It sounds like you had some confusion with a few things, because as I had explained to you these tiles are meant to be decorative art pieces, the paint is durable but not for use involving a lot of water or exposure. And as you had mentioned in the class you want to be able to use it to put your cooking pots on, I explained that it wasn't really meant for that but perhaps you could add a protective coating and that would help give a barrier seal to preserve the paint details of your beautiful design, but it's not really something I try to encourage. A ceramic fired tile would be better for that, but what makes my workshop unique and the benefit my product and experience gives especially to tourists is that you can leave with your tile the same day and don't have to wait and return days later to retrieve it. I do send everyone off with the tile wrapped in protective soft paper and a simple little unmarked bag to carry it in for convenience, but to your point am actually in the process of getting a special carrier box instead, which I would have been excited to share with you if you had mentioned this point in person. I do also have bubble wrap available for you if I'm asked but I will definitely take your note and make sure to always mention this option for those travelers who would like it. As for waiting, sometimes life happens and we do our best with the small inconveniences that come from living in a busy touristic city. Yes the owner's husband arrived a few minutes late but there was no confusion, only that he was offering us another option for where we could set up since it's a big wonderful space and they are very accommodating to our needs. They had a few things stored inside the bar but the movement finished quickly and was happening in the background, so I'm sorry you felt it was somehow too disruptive for the short time it was happening. I do wish you could have been direct and open about all these critiques in person when I asked instead of leaving a low review here, but I am happy to know your thoughts and wish you the best in your travels!

Now I have 2 tiles
I went for second time this year and I am happy with my progress :) the place changed, yes, but Porto is changing everyday now right in front of your eyes, who visits every year knows exactly. This time it was in Veganada café. The area was great for later drinks and dinner. There were 7 of us, even local girls were there and the atmosphere was lovely. I have a second tile I can be proud of together with nice memories. And that is something I am very happy about.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review, it was lovely to have you return! I'm so happy you've had such a great experience and look forward to seeing you again!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Azulejos Tile Painting Workshop in Porto start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
