    From enthusiasm to disenchantment

The driver and helper very polite and friendly, but did not offer the rest of the meal until we asked if there was anything else to eat, and we ate the rest 20min before the activity was over. Besides, the picnic ended 1 hour before the time they offer. It's over by 12:00 and on the ticket and reservation it clearly says it's 22:00 to 1:00. I didn't think it was fair and the Service was medium.

    Truly magical Northern Lights Picnic

Our guide Frank was absolutely amazing, it was just my son and I and he made it such an enjoyable and worthwhile trip , we were lucky that it was only us, a couple from Italy & a family from France so a small group but we were provided so much information, the food and hot berry juice was delicious and seeing the Northern lights was out of this world, would highly recommend this particular trip

Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you for your feedback—it sounds like you had a truly heartwarming experience with us, and we’re delighted to hear that! 🧡

Response from the operator: Wow, nice to read from such a coincidence! Glad to see the activity has been a success!

    Nice tour.

Good tour. Nice to be able to wear those good winter clothes. Nice place to wait for the Northern Lights, unfortunately we didn't see them. The only downside is that they didn't pick me up at my place of stay because it was too close to the center, luckily the guide was kind enough to drop me off there. I didn't feel like walking there alone at night.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking time reviewing us! Hope you will join us again and catch the northern light this time!

    Satisfied with the valuable experience

I participated in this optional tour of a package tour. Unfortunately, it was raining as we left the city office, praying that it would stop soon. The rain didn't stop even when we arrived at the site. We were given sausages and marshmallows to roast in a big tent in the dark. In the end, we weren't able to see the Northern Lights, but we were able to hear about Finland and the lives of Finnish people from a Japanese person living there. It was very good to hear valuable stories with a real sense of everyday life, different from the information you can get on the internet in Japan.

Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.

How much does Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.

Is Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Autumn Aurora Borealis Picnic in Rovaniemi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
