This was such an informative tour. The food and the information made it an incredible experience. 10/10 would do again. It rained and it made it so much durable as Tulum is so dry in heat.

Tasting our way through Tulum!
We had a wonderful experience tasting our way through Tulum! Gracias Luis! Our stomachs and hearts are full, especially with the generous company of Luis and his daughter, which made the experience more fun for my daughters! It’s definitely our highlight of our week learning about Tulum and Mexican history and culture! 🇲🇽 🌮 We took a taxi from Wakax Hacienda, 20 minutes North of center city Tulum, and drop off and pick up location were easy. However, Luis even offered to pick us up. We ended the night wiith paletas, Mexican frozen treat made from fresh natural fruits such as strawberry and mango or Chocolate and Sicilian pistachio. 🍦 Luis also made sure we took some churros back with us! 🍫 🍩 Highly recommend!

Amazing local food tour in Tulum!
This was such an amazing experience. At multiple spots we had a selection of different options to choose from. Luis is very knowledgeable about the food from different regions in Mexico and even things we passed, such as spotting almond tree pods and describing how birds place them in the road to crack the hard shell open. We went to a Mayan restaurant which was so cool, I didn’t realize there are still authentic Mayan restaurants around. We also went to a restaurant that’s been open for 25 years for authentic mole, which I’ve always wanted to try but haven’t seen anywhere. He described the different cooking styles which resulted in the same ingredient tasting different. We passed a lot of excellent street art and were able to take pictures. We also went to a local market, where he answered our many questions and we were able to get souvenirs. There were options for mild to very spicy food/toppings so this will suit many palates. Several locations had vegetarian options. Luis’ English is excellent.

Luis was amazing! He was easy to talk to, had great stories about the city, brought us to many amazing locale places, and the food was wonderful. I would suggest to do this tour at the START of your Tulum trip to get a feel for the city and to ask questions. It was 100% worth it! :)
