    An amazing and unmissable experience

We had a fantastic private tour with Muhammad. The tour was a mix of travelling by air-conditioned car and going on foot. We got to see so many sights, including the Bab Boujloud, the old town city walls, the Jewish quarter, the royal palaces and a panoramic view of the whole city from the Borj Sud to name but a few. At the Art D'Argile, we found out about the traditional ceramic craft. There was a shop but no pressure to buy - but considering the vast choice, there is something for everyone. In the medina, we discovered more of the history of Fes and the many many artistic and cultural sights. Muhammad's expert guidance was first class. And he was happy to adapt the itinerary to our interests and needs. One of our party needed to take a slower pace, and he couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful to make it a great experience for everyone. When the company discovered that getting in and out of the car was a little difficult for that person, the manager Hamza came himself with a different car which was much easier to get into - which was very much appreciated. We did some shopping on the tour and Muhammad was so helpful in helping us get a fair price. Our tour was fantastic - can't recommend it enough!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! 🙏 We’re delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic experience exploring Fes with Muhammad. Making sure every guest feels comfortable and can enjoy the tour at their own pace is very important to us, so I’m especially happy that the change of vehicle made the day easier and more enjoyable for everyone. I’ll be sure to share your kind words with Muhammad—he will be very happy to hear them! It was truly a pleasure having you with us. Thank you again for choosing Bekben Travel and for recommending us so highly. We hope to welcome you back to Morocco again one day! 🇲🇦 Warm regards, Hamza & the Bekben Travel Team

Excellent private guide services in Fez!

The tour was led by Yassin and included all the main sites in the Medina. We visited a beautiful wood working gallery owned by a family going back generations (bought some beautiful pieces). Felt we could trust the owner in that we were getting good prices. Also visited an embroidery shop, a spice shop, a bakery, and the tannery of course. Excellent lunch set in a palace. We visited the mosaic tile place/factory the day before with Hamza - as well as serval sights and view points outside the Medina (royal palace, Jewish cemetery, royal garden). Hamza is very knowledgeable about Fez and its history and culture. He grew up in the Medina - we had a very knowledgeable and hospitable guide! Finally we asked to visit the American Fondouk where working donkeys and mules get free veterinary care. Hamza happily agreed and took us there himself, sharing in our love of animals and caring about their welfare So worthy and inspiring! Thanks Hamza!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! 🙏😊 It was truly a pleasure to spend time with you and share the beauty, history, and culture of Fes together. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed exploring the Medina with Yassin and discovering the traditional artisans, local workshops, and authentic places that make Fes so special. The woodworking family, the embroidery artisans, the spice shops, bakery, tannery, and the palace lunch are all part of the real spirit of the old Medina, and I’m glad you appreciated these experiences. It was also my pleasure to show you the panoramic viewpoints, the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, and the mosaic and tile workshop. As someone who grew up in the Medina, I always enjoy sharing the hidden stories and traditions of my city with guests. And of course, visiting the American Fondouk was something very special. I deeply respect the work they do for donkeys, mules, and working animals, and I was happy to share that experience with people who also care about animal welfare. Thank you again for your kindness, trust, and support. I truly hope to welcome you back to Morocco again in the future! 🇲🇦✨

    Disappointed as not as advertised

This tour is advertised as a full day tour with a guide throughout. The first half in the market was good however we were not given the option to go into the craft museum.l which is on the iternary. We asked about the ladies making bread on the round stones and said we would see it later and he would explain it and then it never happened. Same for the dying of material, said we will go a different way and never got to see it. After a quick lunch at a local fast food stand we met the driver with our guide and drove a few minutes to the blue gate where the guide left. He appeared to be in a rush all day to leave and suspect he has booked a different tour for the afternoon. The driver was just a driver and not a guide, so even though we paid for a full day guided tour it is not what we received as we did not have a guide for the second half of the day. We were pretty confused and it completely impacted the second half of the tour. As this tour was not as advertised and we felt ripped off it I can only give a low score.

    Amazing Tour of Fes

We had an amazing tour of Fes with Ahmed, our guide who spoke great English (he speaks many languages). We specifically picked this tour company because we wanted to get as much history and detail of not just Fes but the Moroccan and Muslim culture as possible. Ahmed started off asking if there was anything specific we wanted to do or see. I told him I haven't tried spiced Moroccan coffee yet. He took us to a street cart where a young man was making Moroccan coffee. He was heating up the coffee in sand and it was truly delicious! It was so good, I had to go back on my last day in Fes to have one more cup. We learned so much from Ahmed as he took us through the Medina, especially how to understand the various signs to indicate if it will pass through or dead end, information that would have been very useful when we went to the other cities, prior to Fes. Not only was the information Ahmed provided interesting but he would include funny stories or facts. He was great at getting us to the front of a group at popular sites so we could see better (I’m very short so I greatly appreciated not having to try to see around tall people in front of me). Ahmed took us to a wonderful lunch that served a very delicious chicken tagine which my friend and I both agreed was the best chicken tagine we had eaten so far. Ahmed also helped me to negotiate 2 purchases which I greatly appreciated. Both my friend and I also appreciated that Ahmed didn't try to talk us into buying any of the products from the artisan shops he took us to.  We were very interested in how the hand made products were made but didn't have the space to purchase the beautiful artisan products Morocco is famous for.   By the way, this tour was during Ramadan and Ahmed apologized to us after lunch because he said he was slower than normal since hasn’t eaten or drank anything all day. I told him he has nothing to apologize for because he has been a great guide, his pace was perfect. If it is possible to give him a rating of 10 instead of a 5 I would.  We couldn't have asked for a better guide and you are lucky if you get him as a guide!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and beautiful review — it truly means a lot to us 🙏 We are absolutely delighted to hear that you had an amazing experience in Fes with Ahmed. He is indeed one of our best guides, and your kind words about his knowledge, sense of humor, and attention to detail perfectly reflect the passion he puts into his work every day. I will personally share your message with him — I’m sure it will make him very happy 😊 We are also very glad that you enjoyed the authentic Moroccan coffee experience, the Medina exploration, and especially the lunch — it’s always our goal to combine culture, history, and local experiences in a natural and enjoyable way. Your understanding and kindness during Ramadan are also deeply appreciated. It means a lot to us that you recognized Ahmed’s efforts despite the fasting — this is exactly the spirit we hope our guests experience when visiting Morocco ❤️ Thank you again for your trust and for choosing our company. It was truly a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you again in the future for another unforgettable experience. Warm regards, Hamza Manager – Bekben Travel 💼🚐✨

Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at €29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Authentic Fez: Artisans, Crafts & Hidden Gems – Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

    +

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marrakech: 1 Day Tour-Best of Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys, 3 Days Merzouga Desert Tour from Marrakech with Luxury Camp, Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley, Waterfall + Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
