Australia Day Dinner Cruise
The Vagabond Australia Day dinner and fireworks cruise was amazing. We ate a sumptuous dinner as we floated between the opera house and the harbour bridge. The food was delicious and plentiful. Most even went back for seconds on the seafood oysters and prawns. Then drink in hand we strolled out to the decks to watch the amazing fireworks and drone show accompanied by Australian (and some NZ) music. 3 hours of great service and entertainment. A wonderful experience for all ages.
Response from the operator: Hi there, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the dinner, the service and the atmosphere on board, and that the fireworks and drone show made it such a memorable Australia Day experience. It’s great to hear the food and entertainment were a highlight, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back on board again in the future. Kind regards, Vagabond Cruises

Not so great with Vagabond Cruises
Very disappointed with Vagabond Cruises. We info them ahead of food allergies for a child and they totally ignored our request in advance for special meal! The supervisor on board was very dismissive and not very nice. So, be cat if you or your children have food allergies!
Response from the operator: Hi David, We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. We do take food allergies seriously and always aim to accommodate dietary requirements where reasonably possible. On our standard dinner cruises, this is typically done by clearly identifying allergens across our buffet selection, which includes a range of nut-free options. Where guests have more complex or highly restrictive dietary requirements, individual meals can sometimes be arranged in advance when necessary. On this occasion, suitable options were already available from the buffet, and our crew was available to assist with identifying these. We regret that this did not meet your expectations and appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. Kind regards, Vagabond Cruises

Missed Fireworks Due to Poor Captain Decisions
I do not recommend this cruise and strongly advise others not to waste their money. Our New Year’s Eve fireworks cruise with Vagabond Cruises was very disappointing due to the captain’s lack of experience. It was surprising that an inexperienced captain was assigned to such an important night. The boat was positioned far from the Harbour Bridge and was still moving just minutes before midnight. In the final moments, it stopped behind a much larger vessel that completely blocked the fireworks. When we finally had some visibility, the boat moved again, blocking the view for guests on the second level. Paying AUD 3,200 for four people and missing the main event of the night is unacceptable. The food and staff were good, but the captain’s poor decisions ruined the entire experience.
Response from the operator: Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how important the New Year’s Eve fireworks experience is, and we’re sorry that the midnight viewing did not meet your expectations. We’ve reviewed the concerns raised and have responded directly where possible. While we won’t be discussing individual circumstances in a public forum, we remain open to further correspondence via email. Kind regards, Vagabond Cruises

New Year 2025 Sydney Harbour Cruise with Vagabond Spirit
New Year 2025 harbour cruise with my fiance. We live in Cairns and came to spend NY to Sydney. Harbour cruise was our one of the best experiences so far. Friendly crew, good buffet food, drinks, atmosphere relaxed. Great view to fireworks. I highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Hi there! (sorry we can't see your name) Thank you so much for your lovely review — and apologies for the delayed response! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear your New Year’s Eve cruise was one of the highlights of your Sydney trip. It means a lot to know the crew, food, and atmosphere made the night special for you and your fiancé — and that the fireworks delivered! Thanks again for the recommendation, and we’d love to welcome you back on board next time you're in town. Warm regards, Michel & the Vagabond Team

Why this scores 43
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Australia Day Dinner and Fireworks Cruise on Sydney Harbour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
