An extraordinary experience with "Homestay Journey" Cusco, Peru
The trip to Peru was the healthiest experience of my life. It was my first visit to South America and I am very happy to have chosen Peru. Choosing Homestay agency Journey Cusco Peru was a very good decision, because our guide, César, turned out to be "the perfect man", a true Peruvian who managed to instill some values of his culture in me. Beyond the good organization of travel, Caesar is a great soul whose gentleness is felt even after returning from Peru. I appreciate everything: patience, gentleness, empathy! It certainly contributed to the beauty and success of this experience. I recommend the agency and Cesar to anyone who wants a trip where they can discover new places and rediscover themselves, because beyond receiving paid services, I really felt the connection with the wonderful Cesar, born in those lands loaded with so much energy.
Response from the operator: Muchas Gracias por confiar en nosotros. hasta pronto y muchas Bendiciones!!

Incredible trip! Highly recommend Homestay Journeys!!
Wow! I cannot recommend Homestay Journeys and Cesar enough. Firstly, Cesar is an incredibly patient and knowledgeable guide and secondly, an incredible chef (the best food I have had in Peru hands down!).y friend and I booked a private tour with Cesar and were incredibly lucky enough to have a large snowfall in the region the days prior. This lead to a magical experience filled with white capped mountains, and really added to the adventure. Cesar also woke us up every morning to coca tea and made us a fresh coffee on his mocha pot to get us ready for the day- what a treat!!!! And no meals were ever repeated and they were incredibly healthy, so we were very energised for our long hiking days. I cannot recommend enough. Compared to other hiking tour groups I have gone through in Peru, Homestay journeys was far better than the other companies.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Dear Laura! I am very grateful for your comment. See you soon!

Wow! 100% loved this.
Wow! We loved this tour with Cesar and our horseman Amilka! It was a dream. Cesar was able to customise this for us and he was the most amazing chef. I really recommend this tour! Cesar gave us a great price and we had everything we could have wanted (incredible vegetarian food)!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Dear Sarah! To next time, good luck in your new trip!!!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days cost?
+
Prices start at $1,400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ausangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain 5 days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
