Description differences but good
When looking at the description " romantic Auckland sunset tour with winery and thermal pool", our understanding of the tour was met with courtesy and professionalism of a local driver raised in the area. His knowledge was great, good conversation and would work with again. the tour description of thermal pool was a location called palm springs which had 4 pools, shallow cold water, warm pool with adults and children, warmer thermal pool with most adults and a hotter for adults only. the pools were up to 1.7 meters and clean. lockers and changing areas available. not romantic, but nice . The winery (the hunting Lodge) was a winery with a restaurant, outdoor and covered Ala cart area with wine/ beer , but no wine tasting was offered as described. the food was great and the wine we did have was very good. the sunset was spectacular and black sand beach was great. Was enjoyable and nice way to see the northern area of Auckland,
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. Our guide is professional guide as you mentioned. And I believe you had wine tasting board which you can do the wine tasting with meals . Hope you enjoyed the wine and meals. Palm Springs geothermal pool has most clean water in Auckland. And we really appreciate that you had enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Thank you

a great tour but not romantic
This was a great tour but not what they listed it as. It's called a romantic tour but we had a guide with my husband and I the entire time. We three ate dinner together at the same table, etc. We had a chaperone. Everything was kind of weird. We got to the winery and they were closed for dinner! No reservation, appearently. Our guide, Sean, took us to another restaurant and it was delicious. Then we went to thermal pools that felt nice but basically they were warm-water swimming pools, and they had other people in them, including children, so again not romantic. Then he drove us to the west coast to Muriwai beach and that was excellent! The scenery was beautiful, and he timed it so that we'd be there at sunset, and it was far prettier than the picture shown on the tour ad. He also showed took us to a gannet nesting colony that was amazing, and I'm not a bird lover. Overall a great tour, but not romantic.
Response from the operator: Thank you for great review and great tips. Thank you for choosing Epic tour.

Best tour guide for Auckland
Sean was our tour guide of both our first and last day in Auckland. We were a group of 8 female marathon runners from the US, and this was our first time to visit NZ. Sean was very knowledgeable , friendly and efficient! He explained and showed us many beautiful places. The winery was very beautiful and they served delicious dinner, paired with excellent wines. We sampled a variety of different wines and were very impressed. You can also buy gifts there. The thermal pool soothed our tired legs from having running the race the day before. Sean took us to see the black sand beach and the beautiful sunset. He even took us to a gelato place which was still open by 9 pm so we could enjoy the icecream! We were very happy with his exceptional guide, and would recommend his company wholeheartedly! Thank you so much, Sean!👍
Response from the operator: Thank you for your great review. We are sonhappy to hear that you and your friends had great time with Sean. Thank you and we wish you all the best

Great Evening at the Beach
Sean was one of the most accommodating guides you can ask for. He did everything humanly possible for us to get the most out of this tour. When we decided to pass on an after dinner thermal bath he suggested we take the ferry back to the city (he met us there to take us back to our hotel).
Response from the operator: We’re So happy to hear that you've enjoyed your tour with Sean! Sean is one of our top guides. We will continue to strive to ensure our tours meet your expectations. Thank you!

Sign me up again!
Being a solo traveler, finding a tour company who will run a tour, even if you are the only person booked, is impossible. Finding someone who immediately puts you at ease, describes Sean completely. From the moment I buckled-up my seatbelt, I felt like I was with a friend who was showing me around his city. As for the Sunset tour itself? Unique, well-thought out, relaxing, toured places other tour companies ignore, and showed me a different side of the Auckland area away from the tourist "hot spots". I will go on this tour again if I ever get back to Auckland.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your great review. We are happy to hear that you had enjoyed with Sean. Thanks for choosing Epic Tour.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.
How much does Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool cost?
+
Prices start at $450 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.
Is Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Auckland Sunset tour with Winery & Thermal pool start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Auckland?
+
On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Auckland?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Auckland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
