What you get

    About this experience

The adventure begins at the meeting point, where your tour guide will be waiting to take you to the famous village of "El Cedral," a Mayan settlement. There, you’ll embark on an exciting quad ride along off-road trails that will lead you into the jungle, culminating at the Jade Cenote, a sacred cenote that holds Mayan secrets in its depths. During the visit, the guide will share insights about Mayan culture and the significance of cenotes in their tradition. After exploring the Jade Cenote, we’ll move on to the most anticipated activity: the tequila tasting. Our staff will offer you a variety of tequila flavors to sample. We hope you enjoy this activity, but remember that participation in the tasting is not mandatory; if you’d prefer to skip it, just let your guide know. You’re not just taking a tour; you’re living a unique experience. So, enjoy and have fun!

    What you'll see and do

    1. El Cedral

The Jade Cavern, also known as "Chempita," is famous for being the only large cenote open to the public. Its natural decoration, with stalactites, gives it a magical and mystical atmosphere. What many don't know is that the cavern extends to a dark dome, adding a touch of mystery. A curious fact that few are aware of is that this cave is home to the "most primitive crustacean in the world" (Remipedio Xibalbanus sp), which is why its environment must remain untouched. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the water; you can jump in and have a great time!

    Weather or not

This excursion involved riding four wheelers to the Jade Cenote. I was looking forward to jumping in the Sun today, but the day we went was a bit too cold. And the imagined amount of bat guano in the water caused us to not want to jump in. We did enjoy the ATV riding around town and we also enjoyed the beauty of the area.

ATVs, Bats, Turtles, Jumping into a Cenote and Tequila!

Steps away from the Cruise Port, an attendant waited at the meeting spot and sent us with Victor and Jesus. Jesus took us on a scenic route in a jeep to our ATV adventure. Victor got us ready and excited as we hopped on our ATVs to conquer the dirt path to the Jade Cavern. Victor gave us the backstory of the caves and taught us some fun words to say in Spanish! We saw a huge cauldron of bats, a couple turtles in the water and jumped into the Cenote and entered Xibalba. After Victor's deep dive (pun intended). we headed to the city where Juan taught us about the blue agave and the journey tequila takes before it turns you into a party animal. Juan convinced the two people with me to enjoy the taste and take it back home. We had a wonderful time, and Jesus drove us back (well a bit further than the port so that we could take in the beach). Victor, Juan and Jesus were awesome! Strongly recommend this experience =D

    ATV tour on Christmas Day

Wonderful experience with well prepared, experienced, and fun tour guides. My son and I had a great time and we enjoyed the trip to the Jade cavern and the tequila tasting as well. Overall, a very well organized and fun ATV adventure. As a side note, I made a mistake on my reservation and the team worked diligently in rescheduling it right in the middle of the Christmas holiday. Thanks again for the wonderful time, will do it again!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your comments!

ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.

How much does ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double) cost?

    +

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double) take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.

Is ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double)?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does ATV tour to jade cavern with transfer (single or double) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cozumel?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cozumel?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cozumel?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
