    Acropolis and Cape Sounion Adventures

Felt like being on top of the world with our wonderful guide Ellen! The Acropolis is truly beautiful day and night! Our tour was full of history thanks to Ellen’s knowledge and fun spirit! We had a fantastic driver as well Thanos who not only took us to the Acropolis but to Cape Sounion at sunset as well! Both tours are a must do! Cheers!

    Amazing Athens Experience

THIS was the way to experience Athens! Andreo picked us up at our hotel, in a very nice van. He drove us to several sites, giving us a history lesson along the way. He kept it entertaining for the whole family, from 7 years to adults. We all had a blast. We had so much fun, after going to lunch at a great place he recommended, we extended the tour and he took us to Poseidon's Temple for sunset. It was the best tour day of our entire vacation.

Response from the operator: Dear Alan G, thank you very much for your excellent feedback. We and Andreas are very happy that you had good time and remained fully satisfied while using our services for your private tour in Athens and in Sounion (Poseidon Temple). We are looking forward to welcome you again in the future. Our Best Regards, JG Athens Tours

Great Trip and Tours of Athens, Delphi, Thermopylae and Corinth

In late October 2023, my husband and I were on the tail-end of a month-long vacation in several countries, with Greece being the last. We like private guides so we contacted JG Athens Tours in September via email, to see what was available for us while we were in Athens.. John, the owner, responded almost immediately which is amazing since most agencies either didn't respond at all, or it took several days. We described to John the specific tours we wanted to take, including our tight timeframe with check-in, check-out hotel times, plus plane arrival and departure times. John was wonderful! He communicated with us very quickly, and when the tours started, we never had any questions like when and where we would meet or be picked up. Lack of timely detailed communication had been a big problem with the other agencies on our trip. John gets a BIG THUMBS UP from us.! He also set us up with a wonderful guide; George. He was very personable and knowledgeable about all the places we toured. The next morning, George, showed up at our hotel, on time, and with plenty of cold water to start our day of visiting Delphi and Thermopylae. Both were wonderful! George played about 20 minute long historical videos on the screen in his car for us to watch as we drove to the different sites, as well as shared additional information all along the drive. He took us to a beautiful quaint family-owned restaurant with an awesome view in present day Delphi. George drove us all around Athens stopping at several places and timed it so we got to see the changing of the guards at the palace! And of course he took us to the Parthenon where he patiently waited for us, taking as long as we wanted. Tour guides usually are not allowed into the actual historical sites as there are other guides you pay, within the sites, if want a guided tour. This was true in the other countries as well. Our last day we spent in Corinth which we very munch enjoyed and then got us to the airport for a late flight to Santorini. John, of JG Athens Tours did an amazing job of matching us up with the perfect guide for our needs. His timely communication, and willingness to work with us to make last minute changes, made our time in Athens a wonderful memory!

Response from the operator: Dear Landon, thank you very much for taking the time to post this excellent feedback. We and George are very happy that you had good time and remained fully satisfied while using our services for your Delphi, Thermopylae, Athens & Corinh Private Tours. We are looking forward to welcome you again in the future. Our Best Regards, JG Athens Tours

    Cool and professional dudes!

JG Athens is amazing! From the start, John gave clear instructions and patiently entertained all my questions while I was still in the travel planning phase. I sent him lots of emails and his responses were prompt and informative. The itinerary was superb! So much to see within 6 hours on this private tour. So, my gal pal and I arrive in Greece and unfortunately, while in Mykonos I had too much fun and injured my knee (I swear no alcohol was involved!) We arrived safely in Athens a couple of days later and George met us at our hotel and took us for our tour in a comfy Mercedes Benz. Their guides can't accompany guests to the specific sites, but George showed us video and gave us just the right amount of commentary for each attraction before we entered. This was great since poor George would have had to endure the countless selfies and silly photoshoots my gal pal and I took. Due to my injury, George took such good care of me including driving to the Acropolis entrance for those with physical needs and talked to Security to let us use the express elevator. A nice treat was watching the changing of the guard ceremony at Parliament. So much history and George showed us where to stand and when to take video. He lent me his charger and gave us bottled water. George is also a natural comedian, explaining the significance of statues where the rider's horses have one or two hooves off the ground. If three hooves are off the ground, then the horse is a ballerina! Haha! Excellent tour! Even without my injury, this was the perfect way to go. Sightseeing in Athens in style. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Dear Cheryl, thank you very much for your excellent feedback. We and George are very happy that you had good time and remained fully satisfied while using our services for your Athens Private Tour. We are looking forward to welcome you again in the future. Take this tour!

Our driver was friendly, knowledgeable and very prompt. It can be stressful navigating a tour with a bus load of people - I wouldn’t do this any other way.

Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $310 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Athens Sights & Acropolis Museum - Private Half Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
