Very poor tour!!!!
Tour details state what’s included! It says everything is included. Then the day before tour I get text to see if I have bought my tickets. That added up to an additional $100.00 eur to the cost of tour. Then I find out all I really get is a driver. No tour guide. This person drove us around to the tour sites and told us to text him when we get back to where he dropped us off. Only reason I gave this so called tour a 3 star, driver was polite.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify a few important points for future travelers. Our product page explicitly states that entrance tickets are not included in the tour price. It also clearly explains that our drivers are not official tour guides, but they are knowledgeable and can provide commentary in fluent English. Although they do not enter the archaeological sites with guests, they can answer questions and provide information about the places visited during the tour. A licensed tour guide is also available at an additional cost for guests who would like a guided experience inside the sites. This option is clearly available, but unfortunately, you did not request or book a licensed tour guide for your tour. Regarding the entrance tickets, we contacted you before the tour specifically to help you arrange and purchase the tickets and make the process easier for you. We were therefore disappointed that this effort was not acknowledged in your review. We completely respect that the experience may not have been what you personally expected. However, we kindly ask guests to carefully review the product description and inclusions before booking, as these details are provided to ensure that the tour matches their expectations. Rating a very popular product based primarily on a misunderstanding of clearly stated inclusions can give future travelers a misleading impression of the service and can unfairly harm our business. Nevertheless, we appreciate your positive comment about our driver being polite, and we take all genuine feedback seriously.

Service never rendered or refunded
I asked to cancel it because I scheduled it for the wrong day and they still charged me. I was waiting to be picked up and called to inquire but they said it was for the next day and I asked for a refund and they said no the trip was for 3pm and I was waiting at noon for the driver. I will never use Viator to book again
Response from the operator: We’re sorry to see this review, as the situation resulted from a booking date misunderstanding. The reservation was confirmed for the following day at 3:00 PM, as shown on the customer’s booking confirmation. The customer contacted us at approximately 12:00 PM on the day they believed the tour was scheduled, and we explained that the reservation was actually for the following day at 3:00 PM. Unfortunately, by that point the cancellation/change was outside the applicable cancellation terms, so we were unable to provide a refund. We always do our best to accommodate changes when possible, but we must also follow the cancellation policy associated with the booking. We understand that mistakes with dates can happen and regret that the situation was frustrating. However, the tour was not missed because our driver failed to arrive—the reservation was simply booked for a different date and time. We remain committed to providing reliable service and clear communication to all our guests.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus cost?
+
Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 659 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus?
+
Around 231 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens Half Day Tour, Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hephaistus start and how do I get there?
+

What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
