    Cooking Class Athens

We absolutely loved our Cooking with Greek Cousins experience in Athens! This was such a fun, hands-on cooking class, and Miks was a fantastic instructor—friendly, engaging, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. We chose the 3:30 PM class so it could double as our dinner, which was perfect, especially since we were still pretty jet-lagged and appreciated the earlier timing. We made chicken and pork gyros, homemade pita, traditional Greek spreads, and a delicious Greek dessert. Everything was incredible! There were only two other people in our class, so it felt almost like having a private cooking experience. It was relaxed, interactive, and such a fun way to learn more about Greek food and culture. Our only regret was not having a refrigerator so we could take all of our leftovers with us! We would absolutely recommend Cooking with Greek Cousins to anyone visiting Athens. It’s such a memorable alternative to a traditional dinner out—and you get an amazing meal at the end. One of our favorite experiences in Athens

    Absolutely recommend!

Our family of five took this cooking class with Dionysia and her husband and we had the best time! They were so fun and personable (and patient!). We felt like we actually learned something about Greek cooking and the food was delicious in the end. Five out of five stars! Highly recommend!

    AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! ✨

We had such an amazing experience with Eat With Your Greek Cousin! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and so much more personal than a typical cooking class. The food was absolutely delicious, and we learned not only how to prepare traditional Greek dishes but also the stories and traditions behind them. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and you could really feel the passion for Greek culture and hospitality. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens and an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a genuine local experience, incredible food, and wonderful hosts, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommended – 5 stars!

Come for the cooking, stay for the warm hospitality!

This was a fantastic experience! We had another couple as well as a family of 5 in our group, and our hosts made this such a sweet memory. They welcomed us into their lofted facility to cook, and served us refreshing drinks throughout. They did a great job of giving you space to cook yourself, within your comfort/skill level. They were so sweet with the children from another part of our group and made their day brighter too!

A Truly Unforgettable Greek Cooking Experience!

If you want more than just a cooking class, book a lesson here with this team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, like her own “students” Dionysia genuinely cared about, not just tourists passing through for an afternoon. What stood out most was how thoughtful and detailed she was with every single step. She didn’t just show us how to cook, she explained the why behind each dish, weaving in Greek traditions and the stories behind the recipes. You can tell this isn’t just a job for her. She’s genuinely passionate about sharing her culture and her craft. The food itself was amazing, fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. Her warmth, patience, and humor made the whole experience feel less like a lesson and more like cooking with a beloved relative. It really did feel like eating with your Greek cousin. I’d recommend this experience to absolutely anyone looking for a fun, authentic, and memorable experience in Greece. Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or a seasoned cook, you’ll leave with new skills, a full belly, and a big smile. Can’t wait to come back!

Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 200 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local?

    +

Around 70 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Athens Greek Cooking Class Pita Gyros from Scratch with a Local start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
