Learn to make one of Greece’s most beloved street foods completely from scratch, using our secret family recipes, passed down through generations and never published. Then we’ll make our grandmother’s famous pita — soft, warm, fluffy and unbelievably delicious. Once you learn how to make it, you may never want to buy ready-made pita again! You’ll also make our creamy tzatziki and our spicy feta spread, made with local spicy peppers And to finish, an incredibly easy and delicious Greek dessert that you’ll want to make again and again. These aren’t recipes we found in a cookbook. They are our family recipes, our memories and the flavours we grew up with. And we’re not going to be humble about it — we set high expectations because we know we can meet them. Our guests keep telling us this is the best pita gyros they’ve ever tasted. We think it might be the best you’ll ever taste too — and we hope you’ll be one of the people who says it.

    Fabulous tour, such fun!

We always try to book at least one cooking class when we are traveling as it is a wonderful way to immerse a bit in the culture. Some classes are better than others and this was one of the best we have taken! The atmosphere was upbeat, friendly, engaging and fun! The cooking space was clean and inviting with plenty of space for our group. This was truly a fun, hands-on class with everyone getting involved. Once the meat was prepped and cooking, we moved to a lovely outdoor patio, where we first cooked our homemade pita bread and then enjoyed the gyros! There were included drinks ( both alcohol and non -alcoholic) all evening. Don't hesitate to book this class!!

Couldn’t be happier with our cooking experience in Athens!

My family had an absolutely amazing time at this cooking class! They were so kind and welcoming and super accommodating to my friend that has a diary allergy (they provided dairy free sour cream and feta cheese and put in the effort to avoid cross contamination with the dairy products). They went out of their way to make sure we had anything we wanted to drink and even asked if we wanted to do pork or chicken for our gyros. We had so much fun and we are super excited to go home and attempt to recreate the delicious meal. The only thing I regret about the experience was that our uber driver showed up earlier than anticipated and we didn’t get a group photo with them at the end - guess I should have done that before booking my uber lol. Would 100% recommend this experience to anyone looking for a cooking experience in Athens!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful and thoughtful review! ❤️ We’re absolutely delighted that your family had such a great time cooking with us. We’re especially happy that your friend felt comfortable and included throughout the experience. We know how important careful preparation and avoiding cross-contamination can be when accommodating a **dairy allergy**, and we were very glad to prepare dairy-free alternatives so that everyone could enjoy the meal together. We also loved giving you the choice between **pork and chicken gyros**—we want our guests to have an experience that feels personal and enjoyable from beginning to end. Most importantly, we’re thrilled that you’re excited to recreate the meal at home! That’s one of the best compliments we can receive from our **Greek cooking class in Athens**. 🇬🇷 And we’re sorry we missed that group photo! 😊 We’ll happily make up for it if you come back to Athens. Until then, we hope your homemade gyros bring back all the delicious memories of your time with us. Thank you for recommending **Eat With Your Greek Cousin** and for spending part of your Athens trip around our table! ❤️

Fun day, learning about Greek cooking

We were greeting by a charming family who made us feel very comfortable and welcome in their kitchen. We learned alot, making pitas from scratch, and chicken and mushroom gyros. The family was very experienced and enthusiastic in everything we did. We had alot of fun and highly recommend them.

Our Pita & Gyros from Scratch experience is all about learning traditional Greek cooking in a relaxed, family-style atmosphere, so it means a lot to hear that you felt comfortable and welcomed from the moment you arrived. Wonderful experience!

Was a great class! We learned a bunch and the chef was very kind and helpful when teaching us! Truly felt like we were being taught how to cook a meal by a helpful new friend we just made! And the recipes were simple enough that I felt confident I could duplicate it on my own, while still being very tasty! He also taught us about the significance of each of the ingredients or dishes, so I feel like I learned not just cooking skills but a bit of cultural knowledge. Absolutely recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! ❤️ We’re delighted to hear that our Greek cooking class in Athens felt less like a formal lesson and more like cooking with a new friend. One of our favorite things about sharing Greek food is showing our guests that traditional Greek recipes don’t have to be complicated. We want you to leave not only having enjoyed a delicious meal, but also feeling confident that you can recreate Greek dishes at home and share them with your own family and friends. We’re also so happy you enjoyed learning about the meaning and cultural traditions behind the ingredients and dishes. For us, Greek cooking is much more than recipes—it’s history, family, hospitality, and stories around the table. It was wonderful having you with us, and we hope every time you make one of the dishes at home, you’ll remember your Greek cooking experience in Athens! 🇬🇷❤️ Thank you for recommending Eat With Your Greek Cousin!
