Absolute MUST if you visit Athens!!
We are that large family @NopiGirl2 references below, and her write up is a beautiful summary of the amazing experience we had!!! We never felt like we were with a tour guide, we felt like we were with a friend that just so happened to know everything about Athens history! Dimitris was personable, funny, upbeat, jovial, and a pleasure to be with. How many “tour guides” can you say you remain friends with?? We never had until now. We will welcome him like family when he comes to the US. We were a group of 7 with 4 adults and 3 teenage boys (13-15), had two airport transports and did two half days with him instead of one full tour day. Same amazing experiences NopiGirl2 shared. You will see everything, and learn the history in a very consumable and interesting way. He was like an engaging history teacher! We continue to tell our friends heading to Greece that a stop in Athens with Dimitris is a MUST! Best experience ever and cannot thank him enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this thorough review and these kind words. We are very happy to hear that you were satisfied with our services and really enjoyed your tour in Athens and Sounio. The Four Seasons Greece Tours team wishes you all the best and hopes to see you soon on your next trip to Greece.

Awesome Tour, Airport Service & Guides in Athens, Greece
My family and I spent just over a week in Greece (husband and 9 year old son) and while in Mykonos we met a large family who were also visiting and when they found out we were heading to Athens next, they raved about a great tour and guide and said if we had time, we absolutely had to do it. They connected me with Dimitris, who was super quick to respond. Even though it was short notice, they were not only able to get us in for the full day Athens tour (with Poseidon Temple), they were also able to arrange for airport pick up and drop off in a private car. First, the airport transfers were fantastic! The drivers were on time and very professional. The cars were clean and had plenty of space for the 3 of us. The cost was very reasonable (I priced out Uber to compare) and it was well worth it knowing someone would be waiting and get us to and from the airport timely. For the tour, we were fortunate enough to get Dimitris himself. He was so knowledgeable! We attempted to start at the Acropolis, but because there was already a line, he suggested that we continue with the rest of the tour and do that last, when the lines were not so long. It worked perfectly! We visited the Temple of Zeus, Panathenaic Stadium (and make sure to pay to go inside and go inside the stadium and check out all the Olympic torches on display!), Temple of Poseidon, and the Acropolis - plus other places along the tour (including seeing the Changing of Guards at the Parliament). We stopped and enjoy an authentic Greek lunch with a beautiful view of the ocean! Dimitris recommended a few authentic dishes to try and they were so good! His knowledge of the places we visited and the history of it all was so interesting and hearing all the stories as we drove around really added so much character to the tour. Plus, he was just a fun guy and really personable. If you are in Athens and have a day and want to explore all the top spots with an experienced guide, this is the company to use. We are already looking forward to going back and doing a 2-3 day tour and be able to get out of the city and see places such as Olympus and Sparta. Thank you again Dimitris!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this in-depth and wonderful review. We are very happy to hear that you really enjoyed your tour to Athens and Sounio and that you were so satisfied with our services too. The Four Seasons Greece Tours team wishes you all the best and hopes to see you again soon on your next trip to Greece.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion cost?
+
Prices start at $400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens Greece plus Temple of Poseidon, Sounion start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
