    2. Astoria

Just a short subway ride from Manhattan, Astoria is a vibrant and unique neighborhood in Queens. It’s a cool and appealing spot, celebrated for its cultural diversity and its rich array of delicious, eclectic food options from authentic Greek cuisine to Middle Eastern fare. It’s a melting pot of cultures, and that’s not a cooking metaphor. The Doughnut Plant Russ & Daughters

    3. Mediterranean Foods You’ll step into Greece almost literally by going into this Greek market for a sample of Mediterranean foods. Opa!

    4. Arayes is a grilled pita filled with ground meat, onions, spices and herbs yet to just put it that way doesn’t make it sound as breathtaking as it is. Arguably the scene stealer of this tour, this Middle Eastern dish is already part of your “five-star” review for this tour. You just don’t know it yet.

      10 minutes here

    5. Having a food experience you’ve never had before is rare. That’s where Al-Sham’s Knafeh comes in. Chances are having this traditional Arabic dessert, a spun pastry soaked in syrup and cheese, comes in. You’ve had nothing like this. Part dessert, part pizza — all everything.

    6. Andrew Bellucci is the pizzaiolo who resurrected a dead coal oven on Spring Street in 1994 and turned it into Lombardi's, and the New York Times later called him a pizza visionary. The shop his partners carry on at 37-08 30th Avenue is where that lineage lives now, turning out thin, blistered New York style pies including the clam pizza that made his reputation.

    7. Parceros is a Colombian panadería that runs on bakery time, with cheese breads, fried pastries and empanadas coming out warm from early morning until night, and a real espresso bar working behind the counter. It is the stop that puts Colombia on the Astoria map alongside the Greek and Italian blocks most visitors think the neighborhood begins and ends with.

    Charming Neighborhood with World Cuisine

Brian did a great job of walking us through charming Astoria. The Greek market/grocery was our favorite stop. Several customers at the store stopped to tell us about the best feta, or olive oil & the best Greek restaurants in the neighborhood. We sampled foods from every corner of the world & learned the history of the area. The different waves of immigration brought new cuisines. We have taken many food tours & we were glad we took the subway N train over to Queens. We expected grungy & found a charming neighborhood with tree-lined streets. A refreshing break from Manhattan.

Response from the operator: Wow! What a fabulous well thought out review. We are so grateful for you and for your business!

    Wonderful food tour of Astoria

We had a great time with Ian touring Astoria. The food -- Greek, Brazilian, Palestinian, Colombian -- was so good and so varied. Ian was knowledgeable and made everything fun and easy. And the neighborhood is amazing. We visited a gorgeous Greek Orthodox church, enjoyed graffiti murals, and took selfies in front of George Costanza's parents' home. We left with satisfied appetites and a great appreciation for the hidden wonders of Astoria! Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for joining us in Queens! Astoria is a wonderful neighborhood that is a hub of food and culture. We are so glad we got to share it with you.

    Astoria’s Culinary Passport

I had an incredible time on this food tour of Astoria! Our guide, Ian, was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and clearly connected to the neighborhood. It was wonderful to see how genuinely he’s welcomed at each stop; his relationships with the local restaurants added a personal touch to every tasting. The food itself was a true world tour of Astoria’s diverse cuisine, and the portions were generous—come hungry! The route was also easy to reach by Subway, which made the whole experience even more convenient. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Queens through its flavors.

Response from the operator: WOW! Thank you so much for the five star review. Hope to see you again ASAP!

This is our 5th tour with Nice Guys and the first on their Astoria tour…it was wonderful! The variety of food was great and as always, it was plentiful. Ian was fun and knowledgeable; he made us feel like his friends who he was just showing off the best of his neighborhood. Such a fun way to learn more about the unique areas of NYC. How much does Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings cost?

    +

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.

Is Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Astoria Cultural Food Tour in Queens, New York with 6+ Tastings start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New York?

    +

New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown Walking Tour in New York. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New York?

    +

September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New York?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
