    Totally worth the money

We had this Portuguese guide who kinda looked like he was Sami Native American Hybrid. He knew Finland very well and took care of our kids like his own. Thank you Nordic Unique Travels! Highly recommended

Bad weather but Good service, thank you Álvaro

It was an amazing experience with Álvaro. The weather conditions were very bad and he was driving carefully. During the tour he had a Lot of patience with us, We like pictures and vídeos of our trips and he was waiting us. We Saw other guides requesting customers to finish the much to come back but Álvaro waited us and told us a place to buy chocolates.

Biggest Rip Off out of 57 Countries.

Having travelled 57 countries to date, Nordic Unique Travels rates as the worst rip-off I have ever experienced. The brochure stated a 5-7km husky sleigh ride, a 30 minute snowmobile ride on a frozen lake, ice fishing gear, a bonfire and we would learn to make smoked salmon. A 8-9 hour excursion, at Euro 288-00 per person. What did we get: a short circular ride of no more than 800 m with the huskies at the husky farm. A 40 minute drive on a bus to the lake. Badly maintained fishing gear, a sausage to grill on the fire and then handed a piece of salmon in tin foil (no teaching us how to smoke salmon), burnt at the bottom and some raw at the top. Then another long ride on the bus to the snowmobiles. Not on a lake, but a very badly maintained, highly corrugated track at night. The snowmobiles were modern and well maintained, but I doubt they will last long on that track. A very disappointing tour and felt totally ripped off. Complaints were not accepted, and the only response was that we may have looked at an old brochure. Yet it was the Arctic Circle Family Day and the price was correct. Absolutely disgusting service. Definitely not recommended.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for your feedback. We have received your complaints after the tour, but the brouchure which your tour leader gave you was indeed an old one which was with different content from what the tour should have been. The tour leader has been bringing customers throughout different seasons and maybe that's the reason, but it's not correct to show the old brochures when the experience was in a new season. Every season, our flyers have been updated with modifications due to different costs and they are not the same since the conditions are always different. It's clearly indcated on our website and also up-to-date brouchures in the office (even many other places around Rovaniemi) physically with the correct content matching the tour itself, but please kindly understand it's difficult for us to know when the customers were given old/incorrect information (not from our side) especially your tour leader took care of the whole reservation process personally without bringing you (customers) to our front desk at all. Our team has been trying our best to fulfill all the inclusions indicated on our brouchures "for this season", so we think it's not fair to be requested to do the programs which we did seasons ago. We appreciate your kind understanding, and sincerely hope you can also check details with your tour leader further. Thank you again for your time.

Arctic Circle Family Day: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.

How much does Arctic Circle Family Day cost?

    +

Prices start at $460 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Arctic Circle Family Day take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.

Is Arctic Circle Family Day worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Arctic Circle Family Day?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Arctic Circle Family Day suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Arctic Circle Family Day?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Arctic Circle Family Day start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
