Perfect day in Kyoto
Perhaps our favorite excursion in Japan! We were able to do so much on this tour. Peter was fantastic and kept our kids and parents interested throughout the ride. Being able to see a different side of Kyoto than we could have on foot was wonderful. In addition to the bamboo forest and monkey park we saw residential neighborhoods and rode through the rice fields. The bikes were well maintained and comfy to ride. Absolutely put this one on your list!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re so pleased to hear that your private family tour was one of your favorite experiences in Japan. Exploring Arashiyama by bike is a wonderful way to discover the Bamboo Forest, Monkey Park, peaceful residential neighborhoods, and rice fields that many visitors never get to see. We’re delighted that Peter kept both the kids and adults engaged throughout the tour, and that everyone enjoyed the comfortable bikes and relaxed pace. Creating memorable experiences for the whole family is exactly what our private family tours are all about. Thank you for your kind recommendation. We hope to welcome your family back to Kyoto for another adventure in the future! Kind regards, Kyoto Bike Tour

Beat part of our trip!
Yuki was a phenomenal guide! He was full of knowledge about the local area, Japan history, and random fun facts. He was so welcoming and generous from our arrival to the tour end, treating our entire party with so much respect and kindness. The bike ride itself was a nice change from walking, but what the care and consideration in planning is what made it outstanding. Without spoiling any surprises, the tour provides a drink and a snack, along with amazing food recommendations and photos from the day. This experience was the highlight of our trip - I couldn’t recommend it more!
Response from the operator: That is so lovely to hear! Thank you! We’re so pleased to hear that the thoughtful touches throughout the day helped make the experience so memorable for your family. ⭐ Amazing Family Bike Tour – A Must-Do in Kyoto! ⭐
We had an absolutely incredible time on this bike tour with our family of four (including our kids, ages 8 and 11)! It was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto. Our guide was wonderful and took us along beautiful, less-traveled back roads that we never would have discovered on our own. It was a fantastic way to see several major sites while experiencing the peaceful, authentic side of the city away from the heavy crowds. The kids loved the pace, and the delicious treats along the way kept everyone energized and happy. To top it all off, our guide took some fantastic family photos of us and shared them right away, which we appreciated so much.If you are visiting Kyoto with family, do not hesitate to book this tour. It is safe, fun, and unforgettable!

Awesome family activity!
Incredible experience and a highlight of our family’s time in Kyoto! Peter created an absolutely memorable day for the whole family. Our kids are 7 and 9, Peter was so patient when they needed to take breaks and used that time to point out or share interesting historical and cultural spots. We felt like we really got to see Kyoto and hit all the top spots in one tour. We truly appreciate the memories he helped us create. Can’t recommend enough!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re especially pleased to hear that the tour was such a memorable experience for your family. Exploring with young riders often brings a different pace to the day, and we’re glad the breaks became opportunities to discover even more of the history and culture of Arashiyama. Creating lasting family memories is exactly what this tour is designed to do, so it means a great deal to hear that it was a highlight of your time in Kyoto. Thank you for your recommendation. Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ) cost?
+
Prices start at $70000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids )?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids )?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Arashiyama Bamboo Forest Family Bike Tour ( Infants & Kids ) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
