Watch sunrise over Angkor Wat, then spend the day exploring Angkor Thom, Bayon, Preah Khan, Ta Nei and Ta Prohm by open-air tuk tuk, with an Angkor pass included. Few sights match the sun rising behind Angkor Wat's five towers, and this full day tour builds an entire day of temple exploration around that moment. After sunrise and breakfast, head back into Angkor via the South Gate to Angkor Thom, the walled 10 square kilometre city once more opulent than most European capitals of its era. Continue to the Bayon, its towers carved with more than 200 gently smiling faces, then to Preah Khan, the 'Sacred Sword', a 56 hectare monastic complex built by Jayavarman VII. The quieter Ta Nei and Ta Keo temples near the Eastern Baray follow before finishing at Ta Prohm, built as a shrine to Jayavarman VII's mother and left wrapped in jungle roots. Your tuk tuk waits at the Eastern Gate for the return journey to Siem Reap. A full, open-air day covering Angkor's essential sunrise-to-sunset circuit.

What you'll see and do
Angkor Wat
Your guide and tuk tuk drive welcome you in the early morning at your booked hotel in Siem Reap and head to the main gate of the Angkor temples and make your early morning stop to see the sunrise. Arguably the largest religious building in the world, with a volume of stone equalling that of the Cheops pyramid in Egypt, it is unlike all the other Khmer temples in that it faces west. Its symmetrical towers are stylized on the modern Cambodian flag. Conceived by Suryavarman II, Angkor Wat took an estimated 30 years to build.

Angkor Thom
You return to your hotel for breakfast, and we move back into the Angkor temples to admire some of the other inspirational temple ruins that define Angkor and make it a proud member of the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Via the South Gate, we visit Angkor Thom. The Great City of Angkor Thom is one of the central points within the whole Angkor Complex, which was probably more opulent than most European cities in the late 12th century. This ten square kilometres city is enclosed by an eight-meter high wall and encircled by a hundred-meter long moat said to have been inhabited by fierce crocodiles.

Bayon Temple
We continue to the Bayon and the Preah Khan Temple before lunch. The Bayon is a 12th-century masterpiece that lies at the very centre of Angkor Thom City and is an archaeological wonder of symmetry and grandeur. The exterior gallery walls have extensive bas-reliefs but the main features are the towers, each with 3 or 4 gently smiling faces, over 200 in total.
45 minutes here · Admission included
Preah Khan Temple
Continue to Preah Khan, "The Sacred Sword", an extensive monastic complex covering over 56 hectares built by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII as a monastery and teaching complex.
30 minutes here · Admission included
Ta Nei Temple
Your three-wheeled motorized vehicle takes us to the Ta Nei Temple and the Tao Keo temple near the Eastern Baray. Both are lesser-known, yet as interesting as all the other temple ruins.
45 minutes here · Admission included
Ta Prohm
Finally, the Ta Prohm was built by Jayavarman VII as a shrine to his mother and is another must-see. While clearing back the forest, it was decided to leave them in place to serve as a reminder of how the original discovers found it and other temples. Your tuk tuk waits at the Eastern Gate and brings you back in comfort back to your overnight address where you will arrive at around 6 pm.

See Angkor Wat at sunrise
Definitely worth being ready at 5:00 a.m. for this tour. The sunrise is spectacular. Make sure to stand on the left side of the main walkway (closest to the market selling souvenirs). This way you will see the sun come up between the towers of Angkor Wat. If you can, climb the stairs to the upper level. It’s on the backside of the temple. You will be rewarded with the chance to step into the inner portion of the building.
Response from the operator: Hello Andrew! Thank you for this excellent advice! Getting up at 5am is definitely worth it for this spectacle. Your tip about the left side of the main walkway is precious, many visitors miss the best angle! And accessing the upper level is indeed that little extra that makes all the difference. Thanks for choosing Asian Trails!

Great trip to see the temples of Angkor Wat
Beautiful sights. Our guide, Nob, was exceptional. Very personable and was a wealth of knowledge. We learned so much about not just the temples but also the history of the civilization and Hinduism and Buddhism.
Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you! Nob will be delighted! He has that contagious passion for Khmer history. Angkor at sunrise with his explanations completely transforms the visit! Glad he enriched your discovery. Thanks for choosing Asian Trails! The Asian Trails Cambodia team

A Wonderful Day
We were picked up on time and our guide was excellent. We saw a beautiful sunrise then had breakfast at a small cafe opposite Angkor Watt before entering into the historical area. Our guide was charming and very knowledgable. We came away from Angkor Watt better informed and much more appreciative of this wonder of the world
Response from the operator: Dear Jean_B We really appreciate this great review of our version of seeing Angkor slightly differently. Your enthusiasm for taking this tour, and exceeding expectations even waking up before the sun has risen, is clearly seen. We of course will bring this message of appreciation over to our guide, the tuk tuk drivers and all concerned who have made it possible in giving you an extraordinary day out and about in Siem Reap. With kind regards Asian Trails Cambodia

Full day tour of Angkor Wat
We had a wonderful informative tour with our guide Maow. We learned a lot about the history of this fantastic temple or should I say city of temples and took some amazing photos from sunrise to the early afternoon. I would recommend this company to others looking for an informative English-speaking guide.

Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour take?
+
Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Angkor Wat Sunrise Full Day Tuk Tuk Temple Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampong Phluk Floating Village Tour by Boat, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap, Angkor Wat Sunrise & 3 Main Temples – Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
