Excellent Bucket List Experience

Great experience for a bucket list location. Getting up very early was worth it. Our guide took us to the perfect sunrise location that wasn't full of people. He went at our pace and was excited to share the history. Our driver was excellent and the cold towels and water after each stop were greatly appreciated. Highly recommend~

Response from the operator: Dear Bradley, Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad that your guide helped you find a perfect, uncrowded sunrise location. It’s great to hear he went at your pace, shared the history enthusiastically, and that you enjoyed the thoughtful touches like the cold towels and water. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to both the guide and driver. We truly appreciate your recommendation! Best regards Bunpheng

The BEST tour!!!!!

This was without a doubt one of the BEST tours I’ve ever been on ( and I’ve been traveling for the last 4 years and taken dozens of tours). Nang was an excellent guide- very good English and was a beautiful storyteller and educator throughout the tour. He answered all of my questions, not just about the temples but about Cambodian culture too. He knew all the secret spots and offered to take pictures for us (and he posed us lol). He also timed our tour PERFECTLY and we have many spots all to ourselves. It was absolutely magical. The tuk tuk driver had ice cold water and cold scented towels for us each time we returned to the tuk tuk which was so refreshing because it is HOT outside. This was a special day that my husband and I will never forget. If you’re reading this review and thinking about booking it for yourself- please book it! You will not be disappointed. Ask for Nang- he’s an incredible tour guide.

Response from the operator: Dear Evan, Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly happy to hear that your tour with Nang . We’ll also be sure to pass along your kind words about the perfect timing, the secret spots, and how thoughtfully the tuk tuk driver prepared cold water and scented towels for you. We really appreciate your recommendation, and we’d love to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience whenever you’re ready. Thank you again! Best regards Bunpheng

Angkor Wat experience

We would thoroughly recommend this style of tour to experience Angkor Wat. Our guide Samnang, Nang, was excellent, his knowledge of the architecture and history were superb and very interesting. Nang and our driver were very attentive, always ready with a bottle of cold water and a cold flannel, which were much appreciated. My husband and I had greatly looked forward to seeing Angkor Wat and Nang along our driver helped this experience to surpass our expectations. The communication via WhatsApp prior to the day was very helpful and reassuring. We would definitely recommend Angkor Doors Tours and our guide Nang.

Request Samnang and Dina for the best tour day.

What a great tour! Not many companies offer a sunrise and sunset combined tour, but we found this from Angkor Doors and are really glad we booked it. It's a great way to see Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and other temples with a break back at the hotel in between, especially good as we had arrived the day before after a very long travel and were somewhat jetlagged! The communication before by WhatsApp was good, especially giving us an extra half hour in bed as we took their advice and booked the entrance tickets on line before arriving in Siem Reap. We had a private tour by car. Our guide was Samnang and our driver was Dina. The vehicle was a quality SUV with great air conditioning and Dina drove us calmly and safely throughout the day, always with a cold towel and a fresh sealed bottle of water ready when we returned to the vehicle. Samnang was a great guide and really made it a special tour. He is fully qualified, wearing the uniform of an official guide. He knew the best place for us to watch the sun come up over Angkor Wat, the best routes to take through the temples, usually away from the crowds, was able to explain the carvings and point out specifics that we would have missed without his knowledge. He was also very friendly and was happy to field all our questions, whether related to the temples, Cambodia life and it's history and we shared information about our families that made it very personal. He also taught me how to use the panorama feature on my phone camera that I didn't know existed, lol! Overall a great day and great value for money. I would highly recommend asking specifically for Samnang and Dina for your tour. You won't regret it!

Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed the sunrise-and-sunset combined tour — it’s one of our favorite itineraries because it lets guests experience the temples at two magical times of day while having a comfortable break at the hotel in between. I’m glad our WhatsApp communication and the tip about booking entrance tickets online helped you rest a little longer. I’ll be sure to pass your kind words to Samnang and Dina. They’ll be thrilled to hear you appreciated the safe, calm driving, the thoughtful touches like cold towels and bottled water, and Samnang’s knowledgeable, friendly guiding. He takes pride in showing less-crowded routes, explaining the carvings and history, and making tours personal — and I’m glad his panorama camera tip came in handy! Thank you also for recommending us and for calling out the value. We hope to welcome you back to Siem Reap one day — and we’ll gladly arrange Samnang and Dina again if they’re available. Best regards Bunpheng

Great tour guide and driver, fantastic sites

Great tour, sunrise and sunset. The few hours rest back at our hotel in between was good (approx.10.30am-3pm) The driver was very professional and friendly. Tour Guide Samnang is a lovely person and provided alot of information, and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Eamonn, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the sunrise and sunset tour, and that the rest period was refreshing. It's great to know that our driver and tour guide, Samnang, made a positive impact on your experience. Your recommendation means a lot to us! We hope to welcome you back on your next adventure. Safe travels! Best regards Angkor Doors Team

Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.

How much does Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.

Is Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 96 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour?

+

Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Angkor Wat Sunrise and Angkor Thom Sunset Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?

+

On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
