We celebrated our 15yr anniversary doing this, WORTH IT!

If your trying to decide which excursion to do this is the one. For the amount you pay for you get alot back. We traveled on Princess Cruise and it was a 20 min walk outside of the port to reach them. They were easy to find. The 3 people that helped were incredible. Once we got to the falls we all got life jackets and a helmet. We were grouped with others but that just meant we had many people to help each other. All of the guys that helped were outstanding. The walk in the beginning is strenuous so keep that in mind. There was 5 zip lines and all of the guys had a spot where they knew they needed to be. I didn't feel unsafe they helped everyone with the harness. After the zip lines we got to jump off 2 waterfalls and slide down several others. 1 jump was 15+ft high. Every group had their own photographer. We got 200+pictures and a few videos for under $100. After that we were given a lunch which was amazing. They had pop and water supplied for us. We went to a plantation afterwards they showed us a few animals how they made cigars and got to taste some rum and Mama-Juana and got to shop for a few mins before they took us back to the port. We were picked up at 855am and dropped off around 2pm. So we still had some time to shop in the port. Don't forget to bring extra cash to tip them they deserve it for the service they provided. We even tipped a few of the other guides because they helped us as well.

    What A Blast

O.M.G. WHAT A BLAST. This is my second time doing this tour—once through Carnival and this time with DR. PRIME. 1st. Finding the location for the meet-up is just as they say: super easy. 2nd. Our crew of William, Daniella, Choc-Latè, and driver Willie was phenomenal. We got on the bus; it was clean, and the AC was cold. They started out giving us some history and keeping it lively. Once we got to the excursion location, they streamlined us getting ready and headed up the mountain. Having Choc-Latè with us the whole time helped people relax, and he made sure we were taken care of. At the falls and zipline, we had Franklin as our guide, and he was awesome. My 25-year-old daughter had an ankle injury, and he walked with her, making sure she was sure-footed. Choc-Latè took a ton of photos for us that we were able to purchase. He also helped keep us organized and kept the vibe energetic and fun the whole time. The cruise lines don't allow you to jump in the falls, but booking with DR. PRIME did, and it was so much better than sliding. The provided lunch was SOOOO good. Nothing to complain about there. Willie did a great job from there, giving us answers to our questions and helping us out at the plantation gift shop. All in all, the crew made sure we were safe and back to the port with time to spare so we could continue shopping. It was awesome. I highly recommend it.

Exciting day of adventure in Damajagua Falls park!

A great day at Damajagua Falls and zip lining. Our driver Fernando and “Paparazzi Chocolatte” were excellent hosts. Pickup at Taino Bay cruise port was easy but be aware that it is about a 15 min walk from the ship to the Gate 5 pickup area. A 30 min drive in a well appointed and cool van led us to the Damajagua park. We were soon outfitted with life jacket, harness, helmet and water and we were on our way. The hike up to the Zip Line area is strenuous in places. There are built in break spots and the group travels at a moderate pace. Zip Lines were fun and fast, and the suspension bridges were cool. But the best part of the excursion is the Falls. The rock slides are short but quick, the water refreshing and cool. Lots of cheering on for the timid in the group and everyone ended up having a great time. A 15-20 min walk back to the entrance drops you at the restaurant where a nice Dominican lunch is served. Fresh hot food and good flavors of the local culture. 39 mins later back on the bus toward the port, you stop at a small plantation where we got schooled on several Dominican facts about the wildlife, plants, animals, and coffee, cocoa, and tobacco farming. We got a demo of fresh cigar rolling, a taste of wonderful Dominican coffee (hand harvested, dried, ground and brewed on site), and a couple shots of Mamajuana, the local spirit made from herb root, honey, rhum and red wine. We also learned about Larimar, the local stone from which beautiful jewelry is made (and sold on site). A couple hundred bucks later and we were well equipped with Hemingway cigars, jewelry, and some mamajuana. Another 20 mins and we were dropped back at the port. About a 5 hour total excursion, it was well worth the price and we’d recommend it to anyone enjoying adventure, agriculture, and local Dominican food and culture.

AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food cost?

    +

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

Is AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 147 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food?

    +

Around 51 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does AMBER COVE-TAINO BAY 5 Zip Lines 7 Waterfalls + Locale Food start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
