Can't bring your own camera, but they do take expensive pictures
Our tour guide was the highlight! Jas was a delight. Very knowledgeable, kind, patient and has great humour! The team with him was also so nice. We were 10-11 people for the tour. The actual snorkling part is around 30minutes. Then we had a great tequila tasting which consists of learning about it, tasting 5 different types of shots and just overall a nice time. Then, we had our "free lunch" which was just 3 tacos : either fried chicken, fried fish or vegetarian. Kinda sad not going to lie. You can't bring your own waterproof camera because of a new law to protect the marine life. They do offer to take pictures for you with their own camera but they charge 25$USD for ONE picture/video or 50$USD for a couple pictures, videos of fishes and pre-taken pictures of fish they already had. The pictures were okay, not really high quality. They do show them to you first and offer to AirDrop them but we didn't buy any. The excursion itself was okay, nothing is colorful and you see the same 3 types of fishes the whole time.

snorkel tour and tacos
The snorkeling was amazing....saw an octopus, 2 turtles and countless colorful fish. Our guide Jordan was awesome! He was always aware of everyone's needs, personable and also gave some great local knowledge on places to go and other things to do. As the kids say.....10 out of 10!

Clean and organized...
Clean and organized staging area, good time snorkeling, and the photographer did a great job capturing special moments - including the eagle ray and turtles we saw! The group was probably a bit too big for the water conditions on the day we went. Event description is not accurate - can't use any type of sunblock (including reef safe) or bring any type of camera (including your phone). You can purchase UV ray blocking shirts upon arrival - but save some $ and pack your own. If you want photos, you'll have to buy those taken by their photographer (~21 pics for $69 when we went). The snack option was limited (either veggie or fish tacos).
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the snorkeling, the organization, and the amazing photos — spotting eagle rays and turtles is always a highlight! We truly appreciate your honest comments. You're absolutely right — for environmental reasons, local regulations prohibit the use of any sunscreen (even reef-safe) and personal cameras, including phones. That said, your tip about bringing your own UV-protection shirt is fantastic, and we’ll make sure to improve our activity description so future guests are better informed and can come prepared. Thank you again for helping us improve. We're always striving to create the best possible experience, and we're happy to know you had a great time with us! Warm regards, Cancun Guru Team

I would not recommend
1. They charge $30 USD per person in addition to what you see in the web page. 2. They were rushing to start swimming and didn't allow us to get adjusted. They should have given little time to get adjusted to the gears.
via Tripadvisor
Swimming too fast and then extort tips in a very rude manner.
Transportation, tekila presentation and the restaurant were good. The main activity was spoiled by the weather (wind and waves) and the desire of our guide to show us multiple reefs - some members of our group including me were not able to swim with these wind fast enough to follow the guide. So most of the people 60+ return to the boat prematurely. Ok, they can't change the weather, but they could change the speed. This is not a marathon. The worst thing was when they started to extort tips. One of them said "Ok if 10 is too much for you don't give". What? I pay tips when I am satisfied. This is not a part of the contract.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amazing Snorkeling Experience + Real Mexican Tacos start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
