Delicious dinner, visit to Shanghai tower, and night river cruise
We had a delightful tour with Sunny and lots of laughs. The dinner was delicious - Sunny recommended wonderful dishes! Although it was very crowded getting on the river cruise, we enjoyed the VIP access to a much less crowded part of the ship with a great view of everything.

Highly Recommended
Our tour guide Grace provided nothing short of a fun, informative, and helpful experience. She really worked well as an introductory day in Shanghai, to cover all the main spots to allow you to go on your own down the road. Nothing but the highest of recommendations to Jenny Shanghai tours!

Great excursions in Shanghai
We had 2 wonderful excursions with Jenny’s on our recent trip to Shanghai - a full day City tour including a riverboat cruise, which was a very good introduction to Shanghai, and a trip to Suzhou and the Tongyi water town, which while a bit touristy was a great way to see an older China. Our guide Troy was excellent - he spoke perfect English, was knowledgeable and informative, and very happy to discuss more sensitive aspects of Chinese history and politics. I would strongly recommend Jenny’s to any visitor to China.

Super Private Tour with excellent tour guide.
The pre trip booking arrangements was seamless without drama. The tour was professionally conducted by Apple, who was very warm, knowledgeable and a fantastic photographer. Highly recommended for those who want a private tour with excellent services! Even the driver assigned to us was very service oriented.

If you're going to China, book your tours with Jenny's Shanghai Tours!
My husband and I booked a private tour with Jenny's Shanghai Tours in October 2025. Everything was great, and I highly recommend this company! Originally I was going to use Jenny for Shanghai only, but after corresponding with her a few times, I realized that it would be better if I just booked everything through her and it was the best decision! We booked our own flights and hotels (using her recommendations), but everything else was booked through Jenny. A driver picked us up in at the airport, we did a tour of Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Zhujiajiao, then we took the bullet train to Beijing (she got the tickets for us), we toured Beijing and the Great Wall and then a driver took us to the airport. Everything was expertly arranged, and I paid for the tour in advance with no issues. Simply stated, if we go back to China we will use Jenny's services for any of the cities she offers. You can trust this company! The tour guides we had were excellent! In Shanghai, we had Apple. She is so lovely and enthusiastic! We were tired from travel, but her enthusiasm was infectious, and we had wonderful days with her! Apple sees beauty in everything around her, and she is an incredibly talented iPhone photographer - she took beautiful photos of us at all the sights. In Beijing, we had Jason for one day (Beijing highlights) and Susan for one day (Great Wall of China and Ming Tombs), and both of them were excellent! We especially liked Susan because she was so patient and flexible and had a great sense of humor. Susan also took awesome photos of us at the Great Wall! I'm very glad that we used Jenny's Shanghai Tours for our trip to China!

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Shanghai.
How much does All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $54 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Shanghai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Shanghai is not rushed.
Is All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Shanghai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Shanghai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Shanghai and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does All-Inclusive Private Day Tour: Best Shanghai w/ River Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Shanghai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Shanghai?
+
On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Shanghai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Shanghai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
