In the early 1900s, Portlanders would drive their Model T cars along the Columbia River Highway to gaze at waterfalls. There is said to be over 4000 waterfalls; many are hidden away, but many are just a short hike off the Historic Highway. On this afternoon half-day tour you'll make new friends while exploring "waterfall alley", including views of the Vista House and a stop at Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon and most visited site in the Pacific Northwest. Your expert guide will teach you about the natural history, cultural history, and wine background of the area, as you drive the Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway. You'll continue on to stop at a vineyard in the Columbia Gorge American Viticultural Area (AVA). Tasting fees included.

Full day of wine and the Columbia Gorge
This was my first wine tasting tour in Oregon. The narrator did a phenomenal job; he was extremely knowledgeable about the local area and wine. I wish we could have stayed longer at the Marchesi vineyard. It felt like visiting Tuscany. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to sample some great wines and learn more about the geology of the area.

The perfect way to end our visit
Very impressed with Marcus’ knowledge of the area and particularly his knowledge of the volcanoes and the differences between them. Loved the scientific knowledge he shared and the lore behind many of the iconic sites on the tour. The wine was delicious, the waterfalls were jaw-droppingly beautiful, and Marcus made it even more enjoyable.

Fun afternoon in Colombia Gorge
It was a fun afternoon. Marcus our guide is super knowledgeable about the history and geologic formations of the gorge and waterfalls. The views are spectacular and fun. The free wine tasting is the perfect end cap. Hiking, views and wine make it an action packed afternoon.
